This memorial Block 6P Plot 42 is showing signs of abrasion by vegetation and well as excessive channelling of water down the front of the monument causing fretting (erosion or wearing away) of the inscription.

The Townley Memorial Block 29 Plot 1 is showing signs of delamination. The Oamaru stone (or limestone) is gradually dividing into thin layers across the surface and flaking away leaving the inscription very hard to read.

The Irvine memorial Block 20 Plot 3A is leaning to the right hand side. This may be due to differing soil compaction or vault distortion or collapse.

The Matthews memorial on the right and above (Block 29 Plot 8) has developed a backwards lean and has come away from the cast irons pins that are supporting the monument to the base or plinth. The lean on the stone has opened up the face of the stone to splintering, fretting and delamination of the Limestone.
