Y6 classes, They elect own chair and secretary each term, They choose, purchase and present awards in Star of the

Week assembly Meet fortnightly with teachers and a governor, Each class brings suggestions, Decide on charity events, involved in appointments, discuss

whole school issues, bring items to staff attention, End of each half term hold non-uniform days to raise funds,

sometimes for own budget and sometimes for a charity of their choice,

This year bought Star of the Week wristbands, wet play games, outdoor lunchtime games and markings for playground.


Rewarding ChildrenPrize Points Awarded for good behaviour or good work In particular; for high scores on reading quizzes,

spelling or tables tests, staying on green all day. Star of the week Child chosen by teacher from each class, name in

newsletter, parents invited in to assembly, presented by governor, receive certificate, trophy for week a wristband and a priority dinner pass.

End of year awards, Presentation Evening Celebrate teams and their successes, and 4 or 5

children from each year group are nominated for different categories. Presented by guest speaker.


Parent Involvement Parent teacher discussions in October, February and

available in July Receive an attainment and attendance report in December

and end of year report in July. Parents information sessions such as Phonics meeting Parents invited to John Franklins Numeracy Day and our

Governors Essential for smooth running of the school Work with staff, parents and pupils to continually improve

the quality of education for our children. 3 committees, Teaching and Learning, Resource

Management and School Development. Oversee strategic direction, make staffing decisions

including appointments, formalise policies, review and set budgets, review and monitor work of the Senior Leadership Team, approve and monitor school improvement plan.

Parent, Local Authority, Community, Staff Governors meet 3 or 4 times a term in committees and

as a full Governing Body Volunteers needed!

We work across the local community with other schools in Pinxton and South Normanton,

We try and link our inset days, We try and avoid date clashes, Shared resources, eg ICT support, Creating joint paperwork, eg shared policies, home to

school agreements, attendance policies Joint letter to council about issues around traffic, snow

Transition

Offer day from DCC is 16th April 2014 Glebe staff will be visiting both infants schools with

increased frequency this year. Meeting next May for parents, including school uniform

details, paperwork etc. Glebe staff will be teaching groups in Y3 from May on. All children will have a Glebe writing book. In June children from Brigg and Green visit for an

afternoon with own school for a sports activity. A second visit with own school as a class based activity. In July all Y3 children visit and are in new classes for the

day.
