DThe chassis adjuster is a practical assembly aid when performing repair work or replacing parts of the steering and chassis of commercial vehicles.The tool was developed specifically for use on vans, trucks, buses, trailers and semi-trailers. The task of the tool is basically to return the wheel varia-bles, such as the camber and track, back to their original state as accurately as possible in a simple and professio-nal way after being repaired.

Working method:Before starting repairs, a fixed marking is applied to the projection surface (e.g. wall, floor, wheel arch, etc.) using masking tape, with the aid of both lasers. The fixed point! This designates the initial position before the repair and will be made on the driver and passen-ger side in event of intervention in the track position (e.g. changing the track-rod end). After repairing, the laser points are repositioned so that they correspond precisely with the markings on the driver and passen-ger sides by, e.g. turning the new track-rod end in and out. When intervening in the track position, for examp-le, the marking of the side not repaired always serves as a reference mark.

- Raise the vehicle slightly until wheels rotate almost freely- Dismantle protective steel ring on the rim- Remove the second nut for fastening the scissor mount- Screw Fixpoint to the rim (about 12 o‘clock position)- Fixed points set by using laser and label on a projection surface

Caution: Do not lift or lower vehicle- Replace tie rod end or entire tie rod- Install new or replacement parts - clamping device remains loosened- Tighten pivot pin- By steering wheel to one side (preferably to non-repair side) bring laser in the marking

- Now adjust the opposite side by turning the tie rod until laser spot is at the centre of the sticker.

- Repeated check of the first side and possible slight readjustment- Finally, the two laser points must again be at the centre of the respective Fixpoint stickers

Notes:The use of the chassis adjuster is not a replacement for axle alignment, especially not if before the repair irregular tire wear was apparent. However, in most cases exact adjustment made with the chassis adjuster is entirely sufficient to guarantee the axle to function perfectly, just like before repairs.
