MSHPM is Coming to a Location Near You! Attend one or all four of our Fall Regional Meetings

MSHPM will be hosting four Regional Meetings this fall. The meetings will be located in Frankenmuth, Troy, Kalamazoo and Kalkaska. We have an impressive lineup of speakers scheduled including Craig Goslin, President Saginaw Spirit; James R. Smith, FACHE, Vice President, Planning, Beaumont Health; Leah M. Omilion-Hodges, PhD, Associate Professor, Western Michigan University, School of Communication; and Jennifer Dale, CNM, Director of Business & Fund Development, New Center Community Services. If time is a factor and you’ve never been able to attend a full-day MSHPM conference, then have lunch with us! This is an easy way to get to know new peers in your industry and learn about our organization. Meeting attendance is free with membership, which will allow you access to both MSHPM benefits and special SHSMD opportunities as well. Members can attend one or all four of the events at no cost. Each event is $30 for non-members (and includes free membership!). Check-in begins at 11 am for our Troy and Kalamazoo meetings; 11:15 am for Kalkaska and 11:30 am for Frankenmuth. All meetings adjourn at 2 pm, except for Kalkaska, which adjourns by 1:30 pm.

Upcoming Elections

MSHPM is pleased to announce the call for nomination for the 2018 Board of Directors.   Service on the Board gives you the opportunity to work with other leaders in MSHPM and allows you to be a decision maker in our association, which is affiliated with SHSMD, the highly respected section of AHA.   Nominate yourself or a colleague for a board position. The Call for Nominations closes on November 3, 2017, and the election concludes on December 1, 2017.

New board members will take office the first week of January, 2018. Look for the nomination form and position descriptions, which will be emailed out the first week of October.

SHSMD Conference

AHA’s Society for Healthcare Strategy & Market Development (SHSMD) is proud to host the premier conference for healthcare marketing, public relations and communications, and strategic planning professionals in Orlando September 24–27, 2017: SHSMD Connections.

MSHPM Financial Update - Fall 2017 MSHPM currently has three sources of income: Membership Dues, Conference Fees, and Sponsorships. It may surprise you to learn that the largest of these sources of income is the Conference Fees, and the smallest is Membership Dues (see graph at right). Through member surveys, we have received feedback that most members feel our Membership Fee ($30 / Year Annual Regular Membership), is low. As the Program Committee introduces new and varied formats over the next few years, including the new Regional Conferences this Fall, a new revenue plan may follow.
