Distributing

• These companies are very well known across the world for their film distribution. They’re not just for films either, some pay their attention to TV shows and video games e.g. 20th century fox with The Simpsons.

• Disney are especially relevant to us as they have distributed a large amount of fantasy films, animated and non-animated.

Budget

As our film was a low budget film it would probably be distributed at either a film festival, small independent cinemas or on the internet. I think using the internet would be the best way for low budget films as it could be a niche market so could reach a wider range of people as they can view it all over the world on the internet. Ways of advertising our film on low budget could include word-of-mouth, leaflets, web 2.0 technology e.g. a Facebook page or twitter account and advertising on websites where our fan base may visit.

BudgetIf our film wasn’t a student budgeted film I believe if it had the money behind it, it could be distributed into the big cinemas. I believe this because fantasy films have grown increasingly popular over the last 10 years or so, and ones involving magic especially e.g. harry potter, so as ours has aspects of magic in and is also relatable as its not completely unbelievable character wise I believe it could have the potential. If our film wasn’t on a low budget possible distributors could be Disney, Pixar, warner bros or paramount pictures. I think these would be good distributors because they are known worldwide and have also distributed fantasy films in the past so fit well in with this genre. If our film had a higher budget advertising could take place nationally across the television, in magazines/newspapers, or web 2.0 technology also.
