Evaluation question 3: What have you learnt from your audience feedback?

• The audience feedback that I received for this was very helpful, as it meant that I was able to improve on factors such as the institutional information; as this was an area that several people thought could be laid out in a more aesthetically pleasing way, as well as the fact that they felt there wasn’t enough of it, I set about improving it so that it would appear more conventional.

As you can see here, the second version is a lot more conventional and aesthetically pleasing than the first, which it would not have been if I had not decided to take the negative

aspects of my audience feedback into consideration.

Magazine

• My magazine was something that I chose to improve of my own accord; however, the audience feedback that I received for the finished version showed me that I had been successful in abiding by conventions and making a professional-looking magazine.

Trailer• This was the part of my promotional package that received the most

audience feedback, due to the fact that we regularly showed updated versions of it to our media class, who then offered their suggestions regarding improvements. This helped us in terms of what order to put shots in, which to get rid of and how we could make the storyline clearer through the text, as, after having watched the trailer so many times ourselves, it became difficult to see exactly what areas needed improving.

• Furthermore, we also created a Facebook group that people could watch our trailer via and give feedback; despite the fact that there were still a few glitches with the trailer, this was extremely helpful as it showed that most people were finding the two different fonts used in the text confusing; we therefore took this into consideration and got rid of all of the text in the old font, as it didn’t really add anything to the storyline and meant that the narrative was unclear.

These two different versions of the trailer demonstrate that we have taken on any feedback we received:
