P & C – SCHOOL PLAN UPDATEPlease join us tonight for the meeting at 7p.m in the library. I will be sharing developments in relation to the playground equipment and a roofing project. I will also be outlining a small change to the 2018-2020 School Plan. Parents are invited to come along and hear what we have changed, why and how this may impact your child. We will also be discussing ideas for the expenditure of funds. The P & C meets on the second Tuesday of the month at 7p.m in the library. It only costs $1 to become a mem-ber which gives you the right to vote. We hope to see you tonight.

NAPLANWishing Year 3 and 5 students all the best for the NAPLAN over the coming days. Please remember this is only a snapshot of performance and a well-balanced approach is important.

SEMESTER INVOICE Just a reminder that Semester invoice payment was due on 10 April. Payment for additional programs such as Sports in Schools, PSSA and excursions (buses and venue fees) is based on a ‘user pay’ model. Unfortunately students who do not pay for additional programs are unable to participate/attend. If you require a payment plan or financial assistance, please contact Mrs Carter or myself via the office. MS MEGAN BRIDEKIRKPRINCIPAL

WE’RE TAKING IT IN OUR STRIDE ON FRIDAY 17 MAY 2019

Well it’s that time of year again when our school seriously starts talking about walking!

Walk Safely to School Day asks that we all consider our transport habits and try to incorporate more walking as part of a healthy, active way to get around. And although walking all the way to school isn’t realistic for many of us, it’s quite easy to figure out how you can build a walk into your family’s daily routine.

You can teach your child the healthy habit of walking more by:

• Walking with them the whole way to school • If they get the bus or train, walk past your usual stop and get on at the next stop • If you have to drive, park the car a few blocks away from the school and walk the rest of the way.

Regular exercise like walking with your child not only helps them (and you!) beat chronic problems like obesity, heart disease, behavioural and mental health issues and diabetes. It also gives you a great opportunity to teach your child safe ways to behave around roads and traffic.

Remember, Active Kids are Healthy Kids so get planning your own Walk Safely to School Day journey for Friday 17 May 2019!

HEADLICEThere have been reported cases of Head Lice in the school. This website provides information about Head Lice and their treatment https://www.healthdirect.gov.au/head-lice There are also a number of businesses that treat Head Lice. They can be found on the internet. To avoid the spread of the insects, your child should not return to school until they have begun effective treatment. Multiple treatments may be needed to ensure all lice & eggs are killed.

P&C GENERAL MEETINGThe next P&C meeting will be held tonight at 7 pm in the library. All members and new members are always welcome! Membership is only $1 and you can join on Qkr! or on the night. NARELLE KINGP&C SECRETARY

This is not a P & C meeting or an enrolment seminar, it is simply morning tea for sharing and building community harmony. Parents with small children are welcome and we have a toy /play box.

Ms Choi can speak Cantonese and some Mandarin so families who feel they need some language support are welcome.
