F reedom of the individual is both the basis and bottom line of liberal politics. We, the Liberals,

therefore, create the conditions for everybody s free development in this country, to overcome obstacles and be happy in their own ways. This has been our inces-sant quest during four years in the Christian-Liberal co-alition. Those have been four good years for Germany:

1.6 million new jobs were created over the last four years. On average, every 80 seconds someone found a new job in Germany.

Our 2014 budget will be the first structurally balanced federal budget presented in more than 40 years. We invest in future-oriented growth rather than in growth of debt at the expense of the future.

In the period under review, we have relieved the centre of society from a burden of 22 billion Euro. This has made people s life easier, while strengthening growth at the same time.

to Germany!“

Germany has had four good years: We want to make sure that the next four years will be good as well.

We hold our course:

• For lower debt and sound government budgets.

• For more growth and relief of the centre of society.

• For safe money and a stable currency.

• For more opportunities and more jobs.

• For a diverse and open society.

• For more freedom by persistent safeguarding of civil rights.

• For more and better education.

• For peace, freedom and prosperity all over the world.

Together we can accomplish great missions! Full em-ployment. Debt-Freedom. More prosperity for everybody. Those goals are within reach. Therefore, we must hold our course in Germany.

This will be possible only with us.

Reasonable relief of the working middle class and debt reduction do not exclude each other but are complementary. That proved to be true during the past four years. We oppose higher taxes on citizens and businesses. They prevent growth and kill jobs, thus putting at risk the very existence of countless workers and their families.

Consequently, we work for these objectives:

„Relief for upswing“

• Preventing a higher tax burden on citizens and businesses.

• Reducing disguised progression.

• Ending the “solidarity tax”.

• Further simplifying tax laws.

• Formal introduction of monetary stability to our Basic Law.

• Defending the European Central Bank‘s independence and strengthening the

German Bundesbank.

• Enforcing the agreed rules for stability in Europe.

• Preventing Eurobonds and debt pooling in Europe.

„ Stable currency for

more prosperity“

Safe money is a cornerstone of all free and fair so-cial and economic orders. Inflation means destruc-tion of savings and devaluation of what people have achieved in their lifes.

Therefore, we work for the following:

The public debt crisis has revealed the risks of debt-based policy. We have learnt our lesson. We insist on a safe currency as well as on security for your savings and freedom for future generations. Therefore: Cutting government debt and securing our currency must be priorities of forthcoming governmental tasks. Policy shall be pursued within the limits of available financial resources. We stand for an efficient government that cares for people who are facing major risks but does not interfere with their everyday life.

These are our aspirations:

„ Stop the debt spiral“

• Continue to follow the path out of debt. In 2015 we will have a balanced budget and by 2016 we will start repayment of debt.

• Activation of the forces of growth, ensuring that the government may grow out of its debt - the state must not grow faster than the economy.

• Cutting of red tape, because this is what will relieve both the middle class and the government.

• No data retention and improvement of data privacy protection.

• On principle, permissibility of dual citizenship.

• Conditions for accelerated naturalisation after four years.

• More suitable staff with migration back- ground in public service.

We want a republic of free citizens and a policy for the rights and freedom of the people in this country. We support the people’s free choice of their way of life. We want to pave the road for gi-ving everyone the opportunity to do so - no matter the individual’s origin and ethnicity, gender, age or love relations.

Therefore, we are embarking on the following road:

„Strong economy,

more jobs“

Thanks to our strong economy in general, and small and mid-size enterprises in particular, we are at the top of Europe, despite the crisis. To keep that position we need courageous entrepre-neurs who create jobs and opportunities to enter a company and start a career. We must defend our pro-business environment and invest in data networks and a modern transport infrastructure.

Therefore, we are committed to these ends:

• Reducing the energy tax to keep electricity affordable for all.

• Supporting ingenuity, creativity and research free from ideology.

• Easier accessibility of Germany to bright minds from around the world by

introducing modern legal rules on im- migration.

Good education policy is a prerequisite to ensure that the promised advancement of our society becomes a reality for everyone. Everybody shall be free to develop her or his talents and ideas.

These are the values in which we believe:

• Education as a civil right which is open to all people.

• Diversity of education from nursery school up to university. Different talents need in- dividual support and more freedom when choosing schools.

• Preserving German grammar schools as they are the basis of excellence.

• Enhancing vocational education.

through more education“

• To overcome the European debt crisis and build a better Europe.

• To maintain good friendship while partnering with the new centres of power in the world.

• To achieve further success in disarmament and remaining committed to the culture of military restraint.

• To strengthen foreign cultural relations and education policy, providing the ground for dia- logue, understanding and trust.

Germany is a strong and reliable partner in the world. We take responsibility and enjoy confiden-ce. We pursue our interests and follow our values: Worldwide, we are committed to democracy, pro-tection of human rights and diplomatic solutions. German foreign policy is peace policy. Germany will be strong only within a strong Europe.

Therefore, we want:

„Peace, freedom and

prosperity in the world“

• To fight any discrimination based on reli-gion, ethnicity, gender, disability, age or sexual orientation.

• More effectiveness and efficiency in development cooperation.

• More private investment to the benefit of our partner countries.

• More civic commitment from the centre of society.

We fight for freedom. All the time. Worldwide. Freedom is the only way allowing all people to live in dignity, autonomy and self-determination. Development cooperation is an investment in a better future for the people in our partner coun-tries and in Germany.

Therefore, we want:

„Developing the future

- worldwide“

• No one-fits-all insurance system which turns all people into petitioners, but better healthcare services for all by increasing competition.

• A general practitioner should always be within reach and patients should have the freedom to choose the physician and the therapy they want.

• Flexible transition to retirement.

• More opportunities to earn an additional income.

Germany is doing better: Compulsory fee for ad-mission to a medical office for outpatient treatment has been abolished. Pensions have gone up while contributions have gone down. For the first time, health insurance benefits are available for people with dementia. The finances of health insurance companies have never been healthier than they are now. Now and in the future, everyone should get the assistance they need. Therefore, we want:

R elief of the middle class. Sound budgets. Stable currency. This course has made

Germany strong. Together we can make Germany even stronger: Full employment. Less debt. More prosperity for everybody. These goals are within reach. However, we can only achieve this goal if we stay on course.

That is what it is all about for the upcoming elections!

The Social Democrats (SPD), the Greens and the Left party prefer a different course. They want a U-turn. They want to raise taxes, drive up government spending and debt and turn Europe into a debt union.

We, however, want to relieve the middle of the society, restructure the government budget and ensure that our currency stays stable.

This will be possible only with us. Only with FDP.
