Company profile

A company profile is simply facts about a company and its current state. They are often included in proposals or bids to other companies just as a quick refresher on the company.

• Address and Contact Information• This section of company profiles should include exactly what the title says,

the address and contact information. The contact doesn’t have to be a specific person, just an office phone number and fax number, and email address of a secretary or office assistant.

•  • Company Statistics• This section is dedicated to some facts about your company that can be

found publicly. Don’t reveal any private information or company sensitive material. Include things like number of employees, previous year’s earnings, the year the company was founded, growth since company was founded, stock exchange, etc. The communication process here is for you to make your company look good. Don’t add anything that will take away from your company’s reputation.

• Business Sectors• This section is pretty simple; you want to include the markets your company competes in,

and nothing more. Don’t be shy, list markets you didn’t intend to compete in, but are actually making a name for yourself in.

•  • Parent Company• Some companies have a parent company, some do not. A lot of entrepreneurs start more

companies after they have successfully started their first one, and it usually has relations to the first one.  If your company has a parent, then list it, if it doesn’t, then don’t.

•  • Company History• This section could easily fill half a page, but keep it light. No more than three or four lines will

do fine here. Include the founding members and an inspiring story if possible. I know it is difficult in such a short space, but the shorter the better here.

•  • Reference Documents• These are not absolutely necessary, but will only help your cause. The ability to provide

some credibility to your company profile will speak volumes for you. Any company can boast about itself, but it means much more when others can stand behind your claims.
