RAMUSI & SONS is a 100% black-and-youth-owned firm which operates in Civil and Trenchless Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) sectors.

The firm’s team consists of competent leaders (with skills and experience) to undertake detailed design, construction supervision and contract management in facets of civil engineering, including but not limited to:

• Trenchless Horizontal Directional Drilling (Boring and Pipe Cracking)

RAMUSI & SONS was primarily formed to offer directional drilling services and has grown to take advantage of opportunities arising from the following industries/sectors:

Labour Resources

• RAMUSI & SONS has a staff complement of 30 employees which is made up of contract and permanent staff. Each drill rig has its own team, there is a civils and a ground penetrating radar scanning team.

• Clients often inquire about RAMUSI & SONS’s ability to attract and maintain such a skilled Telecommunications and Civil workforce while working in so many regions throughout the country. RAMUSI & SONS has developed a strategic plan which employs the highest of pre-qualifying skill set standards in the telecommunications Industry.

• RAMUSI & SONS maintains a robust and strong core of field management and supervision on a routine and full-time vested status. Our recruitment efforts for staffing up larger scale project or maintenance initiatives begin at the local level. All of our projects begin with pre-job addressing labour resource requirements in detail.

Training

RAMUSI & SONS initiates continuous and sustainable training programs for its staff members so as to ensure quality service to our customers and at the same time making a contribution to the personal development of staff members. Furthermore, to ensure skills refresh our staff have attended Vermeer Principles of Horizontal Directional Drilling training in Kempton Park, Johannesburg in December 2016 and December 2017.

Safety

At RAMUSI & SONS: Safety is our primary concern.

That’s why we have a company-wide goal of Zero injuries and accidents on every job we perform. Through constant reiteration of our safety procedures, immediate response to all unsafe acts, and positive reinforcement of safe behaviour we have been highly successful in reduction of higher-risk activities. RAMUSI & SONS recognizes that safety is the most important aspect of our business. We owe it to both our customers and our employees to maintain the highest of standards when it comes to safe working conditions and methods.

Our Safety Committee is comprised of top-level management from all divisions, who work closely with RAMUSI & SONS Safety director and consultants to review and update current policies and procedures and to guarantee the highest possible level of safety performance.

As our company has grown we have stepped up our efforts to ensure safety on each and every project (including a Safety Orientation for new personnel) and companywide awareness and incentive programs to promote a safe working environment.

Founder & Chairman Profile

RAMUSI & SONS was founded by Mr. Selaelo Ramusi: a young progressive and dynamic entrepreneur who has pioneered into multiple niche industries with great success.

Selaelo started his career at Deloitte Consulting where he worked as a Strategy and Innovation Management Consultant focusing on the Financial services sector. Here, he honed his skills in complex problem solving and has consulted for listed wealth management firms, banksand insurers.

Selaelo has vast experience in new venture creation and has founded numerous high value businesses with his previous one being BabirwaWildlife (A rare game breeding farming business).

He is the Founding Non-Executive Chairman of Ramusi Group and leads just under 100 employees across all the businesses.

Selaelo and his wife Kizzy Ramusi have two sons.
