CLIMBING
Climbing is a type of sport in which you use whole body. Hands for hanging on, legs for pushing your self up and belly if you climb vertically. I chose to present you information about climbing because I am a climber myself.

CLIMBING WALLS
Climbing walls:• Are made of hard and strong wood• Have holes in them for grabs to be
bolted• Can be horizontal and / or diagonalGrabs are:• of multiple sizes according to use• made of urethane
BIG WALLS BOULDERING WALLS
are:• about 15m tall• Used for training for
longer climbsPeople secure they ropes to prepared quickdraws or they already have prepared rope secured to the wall. They are secured by their companion

CLIMBING ON ROCKS
• Climbing on rocks is more dangerous than on walls because you are secured only from bottom and you must secure your rope to the rock
• It is more exciting because you are in nature and rocks can be higher than walls
• You can also do bouldering on rocks, there are portable bouldering mats for this purpose
TYPES OF ROCKS FOR CLIMBING
• Limestone- has least friction but most grabs, - can be found in Ireland, France, England, Canada, ...
• Sandstone- very big friction but less grabs, -made of sand, -it was once the sea botom, -can be found in UK, Czech Republic, ...
• Granite- more friction and less grabs than limestone but less friction and more grabs than sandstone

• rope- security• Climbing shoes- better leg friction, easier climbing• Mat- bouldering• Magnesium- better hand friction• Brush- cleaning grabs• Eight Descender- for getting down of a rock• Carrabin- for HMS knot (security), securing to rope (on walls)• Quickdraws - for securing the rope• Seat- for sitting while going on or down of a rock, wall • “Istítko“ – securing climbing companion• Clinch- they are nailed to a rock, used to hold quickdraws• Anchors- as clinch plus glued• Ice axes- for holding on ice• Crampons- for walking on ice
