CIH regulated qualifications The Chartered Institute of Housing is a nationally recognised Awarding Organisation for qualifications in housing. We are the leading Awarding Organisation for housing qualifications in the UK and we are dedicated to providing the highest quality, relevant and up-to-date qualifications for everyone in housing.

Qualifications from CIH offer maximum flexibility to enable you to learn with us when, where and how you want to, encouraging you to improve your skills and knowledge to become a great housing professional.

This qualification is an introductory vocational qualification for the housing sector. It is also the technical/knowledge component of the Intermediate (Level 2) Apprenticeship in Housing. Broadly comparable to a GCSE (grades A-C) or an NVQ Level 2. In Scotland comparable to GCSE/SVQ2/level 4-5 on SCQF.

CIH Level 2 Certificate in Housing Practice (QCF)

This qualification is an introductory vocational qualification for the housing sector. Broadly comparable to a GCSE (grades A-C) or an NVQ Level 2. It is aimed at those people who have a desire to learn how to use their homes in a more sustainable way. In Scotland comparable to GCSE/SVQ2/Level 4-5 on SCQF.

CIH Level 2 Award in Sustainable Living (QCF)

The CIH Level 2 Award for Letting and Managing Residential Property (QCF) is an introductory vocational qualification which is broadly equivalent / comparable in standard (not size) to a GCSE (grades A-C) or an NVQ Level 2. It is aimed at encouraging, acknowledging and actively promoting good standards of privately rented accommodation. In Scotland comparable to GCSE/SVQ2/Level 4-5 on SCQF.

CIH L2 Award for Letting and Managing Residential Property (QCF) (replacing the CIH Level 2 Award for Landlords (QCF))

The CIH Level 2 Certificate in Neighbourhood Maintenance (QCF) is an introductory vocational qualification, which is broadly equivalent / comparable in level (not size) to a GCSE (grades A-C) or an NVQ Level 2. It is aimed at people who are working in the housing sector undertaking neighbourhood maintenance. In Scotland comparable to GCSE/SVQ2/Level 4-5 on SCQF.

CIH Level 2 Certificate in Neighbourhood Maintenance (QCF)

These qualifications are vocationally related qualifications for housing professionals working in a front line capacity in the housing sector. The Level 3 Certificate in Housing Practice (QCF) is also the technical/knowledge component of the Advanced (Level 3) Apprenticeship in Housing. Broadly comparable to an A Level standard or an NVQ Level 3. In Scotland comparable to GCSE/SVQ3/level 6 on SCQF.

These vocational qualifications provide housing staff working at or aspiring to a supervisory or management level with a qualification to suit their needs. Level 4 qualifications are at a level equivalent to Certificates of Higher Education or an NVQ Level 4. In Scotland broadly comparable to SVQ3/4 and level 7 on SCQF.

CIH Level 4 Certificate For the Housing Profession (QCF) CIH Level 4 Certificate/Diploma in Housing Practice (QCF)

Active Learning for Residents (ALfR) is a unique programme of qualifications specifically designed for residents.

CIH Level 2 Award in Community Action in Housing (QCF) CIH Level 3 Award in Resident Scrutiny (QCF) CIH Level 3 Award in Governance in Housing (QCF) CIH Level 3 Award in Community Action in Housing (QCF)

This is a suite of qualifications developed to professionalise the housing maintenance workforce. The qualifications have been developed with, and are supported by The Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB). Learners can gain membership of both professional bodies.
