(NAPS)—The economic picture may be brighten- ing, but many consumers are still feeling the chal- lenges from the past few years and planning ahead to save money. That means they’ll look for sales and use coupons. In addition, some will think outside the “money-saving box” this holiday shopping season. One unconventional savings strategy that shop- pers plan to try when buying gifts will be hag- gling over prices. In fact, a recent survey found that more than four in 10 are likely to consider haggling as a tactic to save money on holiday shopping this year. Seven percent said it’s very likely they will haggle. If haggling isn’t quite your style, there are a variety of other ways you can save major money this shopping season: • Dollar stores: When most items at a dollar store are $1, you’re guaranteed to save more money than if you purchased similar items at a different store, especially if you’re on the hunt for inexpen- sive stocking stuffers. Keep quality in mind when you’re selecting gifts, though, to ensure they are safe and intact. • Garage sales: It may take some effort, but there are inexpensive treasures to be found at garage sales that can round out your holiday shopping. (NAPS)—Staying healthy over the holidays, experts advise, requires at least two simplesteps: planning ahead and taking time for your-self. Fortunately, this can be simpler than many sus-pect because the “cool aisles” of the grocerystore have many “secret weapons” to makeholiday food preparation and entertaining easi-er and more enjoyable. Frozen and refrigeratedfoods provide an excellent opportunity forplanning ahead for the holidays so you canspend less time in the kitchen and more timefor yourself. It helps to “stock up” your freezer and fridge

with: • Delicious breakfast selections—waffles, pancakes, eggs, cheeses and breakfast sandwich-es; combine fruit with yogurts and juices for smoothies to make holiday mornings even morefun.• Super snacks and appetizers—cheeses, dips, egg rolls, shrimp, pizza, wings and meatballs;serve on attractive platters and let the party begin.• Dinner plans—the frozen aisles offer a variety of fully prepared entrées; they can be on thetable for your family in minutes on busy nights.• Side-dish pleasures—ready-to-heat-and-eat vegetables, potatoes and breads can make holi-day meals less work.

Long ago, Christmas trees were trimmed with treats such as apples, nuts or dates. With Festive Popcorn Trees, yourentire tree is edible. There’s no right or wrong way to decorate a tree, but if you’re not happy with the results, eat itand start again. It’s the ultimate eco-friendly way to trim a tree.
