A. S. E. Artistic | Social | Enterprising
Artistic: People in the artistic field are usually original and
individualistic. They enjoy expressing themselves by
creating new things. They prefer nonconformity and
abstract, unstructured working environments. I think that
this describes me and my work values perfectly.
Social: People in the social field are usually very friendly
and outgoing. They enjoy being in groups or around
other people as opposed to working alone. They dislike
routine, highly organized tasks, and details. They would
rather be cooperative and do something that deals with
philosophical and life issues. They are good at relating
to and supporting others. I think that these are all the
qualities that I have and I would love to work in a social
field where I can help influence people’s lives.
Enterprising: People in the enterprising fields are outgoing,
optimistic, and confident. They are ambitious and like to be in
positions of authority. They place high values on power and
money. They are assertive and verbally persuasive. They tend
to dislike scientific activities and systematic thinking. They
avoid activities which require attention to detail and set routine.
I think that some of the enterprising qualities match me but not
completely. I’m not assertive and I usually do not like being the
leader or the center of attention. It would depend on what kind
of a job it is.

The career I liked the most is
Advertising and Promotions Manager. I
like this job because it contains all three
aspects of my Holland Code including
Artistic, Social and Enterprising. There
is the business part of it where you
have to advertise and sell a product or
a service. There is also a social aspect
in that you must conduct meetings,
explain ideas, and listen to your clients.
There is also an Artistic side to coming
up with the designs, colors, slogans,
etc. It involves planning and overseeing
a few different things so it will never be
boring or concrete. Personally, in most
of my afterschool clubs, I am always the
one to make signs or posters for events.
I think about where to hang them up,
and what to say on them to attract
other students. It is something I enjoy
doing so I would like this job.

I agree with my Interest and
Style results for this test. The
blue interests involve creativity,
humanities, and quiet jobs while
the yellow style involves working
in orderly settings where there is
little intervention and
unexpected changes. The career
that I liked the most is Website
Designer. I think it combines a
creative and thoughtful aspect
while allowing independent work.
You have more freedom in what
you do and you are responsible
for reflecting a company or
brands image through design.

I think that my results for the career
clusters are completely true. Arts,
Audio/Video Technology and
Communications is my first choice
and fits my personality the best.
Many of the careers I talk about in
this presentation fall under that
cluster. Hospitality and Tourism was
a cluster that I was not aware
existed and I also find that I would
like the jobs that are in it. This gives
me more options to chose from such
as Lodge Manager, Recreational
Advisor, etc. Human Services was
also a part of my results. I think that
this would be a third choice for me
because the emotional pressure and
involvement might be too difficult to
deal with.
