Career AssessmentsBirkman Personality Test

People with yellow Interests like job responsibilities that include organizing and systematizing, and professions that are detail-oriented, predictable, and objective. People with yellow Interests enjoy activities that include: ordering, numbering, scheduling, systematizing, preserving, maintaining, measuring, specifying details, and archiving, which often lead to work in research, banking, accounting, systems analysis, tax law, finance, government work, and engineering.

People with yellow styles perform their job responsibilities in a manner that is orderly and planned to meet a known schedule. They prefer to work where things get done with a minimum of interpretation and unexpected change. People with a yellow style tend to be orderly, cautious, structured, loyal, systematic, solitary, methodical, and organized, and usually thrive in a research-oriented, predictable, established, controlled, measurable, orderly environment. You will want to choose a work environment or career path in which your style is welcomed and produces results.

Criminal Investigators & Special Agents

Career Assessments

Criminal Investigators and Special Agents obtain and verify evidence by interviewing and observing suspects and witnesses or by analyzing records.

They identify case issues and evidence needed, based on analysis of charges, complaints, or allegations of law violations. They also search for and collect evidence, such as fingerprints, using investigative equipment. This career is all about investigating

organized crime, public corruption, financial crime, copyright infringement, civil rights violations, bank robbery, extortion, kidnapping, and other violations of federal or state statutes.

I think this career was a match mostly because of the investigative and social clusters in my Holland Code. I like to solve problems and look deeply into things, so I think this career is very interesting.

Small Business OwnerCareer Assessments

As a small business owner, you need to be aware of the six M’s: Mission, Market, Message, Media, Method, and Management

An ideal small business owner knows how to make plans, solve problems, hire, train, motivate, and lead employees.

Being a small business owner is risky; it is probably the most risky legal career you can choose. But, with a lot of hard work, determination and some luck, the rewards of starting your own business are excellent.

I think owning a small business would be good for me because I like to take charge. However, this career can also be very stressful and a huge responsibility. I also am very competitive and I think you need to be competitive to be an owner of any kind of business. Although I think I would like this job, I think it would take a lot of learning to learn how to be a good owner and to keep the customers coming.

Counseling PsychologistsCareer Assessments

Collect information about individuals or clients, using interviews, case histories, observational techniques, and other assessment methods.

Evaluate the results of counseling methods to determine the reliability and validity of treatments.

Analyze data such as interview notes, test results, and reference manuals to identify symptoms and to diagnose the nature of clients' problems.

Requires the knowledge of some things like Therapy and Counseling, Sociology and Anthropology, and Psychology. Also some skills like persuasion, critical thinking, and monitoring.

This career is one of my favorites because I think it is interesting to know about why we do the things we do, and working with people. I like to figure people out and help them with problems.

LawyersCareer Assessments

Present evidence to defend clients or prosecute defendants in criminal or civil litigation. Analyze the probable outcomes of cases,

using knowledge of legal precedents.

Evaluate findings and develop strategies and arguments in preparation for presentation of cases.

Requires some skills like judgment and decision making, persuasion, and complex problem solving. Also requires abilities like deductive reasoning, inductive reasoning and problem sensitivity.

This career is good for me because I am very good at persuasion and solving problems. I enjoy getting to the bottom of things and coming up with a solution. I can often get people to agree with me as well.

Accountant/AuditorCareer Assessments

Accountants keeps track of payments, financial positions, and transfers of capital or income for individual or institutional clients.

Accountants must be comfortable with numbers, but must also spend a considerable amount of time reviewing other people’s work and, in particular, delivering bad news.

Things I liked about the occupation, is that you can almost always get a job. Accountants are always needed so you don’t have as high of a chance to be unemployed. I also work well with numbers and math, so this career would be a good choice, however, I still don’t really understand the actual difference between Auditors and Accounting.

The level of satisfaction in the profession is high. Since the bulk of what a professional accountant does is well-covered in school, those who don’t find accounting enjoyable in school tend not to enter the professional accounting world.

Educational, Guidance, School, and Vocational Counselors

Career AssessmentsCounsel individuals to help them understand and overcome personal, social, or behavioral problems affecting their educational or vocational situations.

Confer with parents or guardians, teachers, administrators, and other professionals to discuss children's progress, resolve behavioral, academic, and other problems, and to determine priorities for students and their resource needs.

Counsel students regarding educational issues, such as course and program selection, class scheduling and registration, school adjustment, truancy, study habits, and career planning.

I think this is a good career for me because I enjoy working with people and helping them. I am very good with young kids and this occupation is often associated with them.
