CITYLINK TULLA WIDENING: CONTINUED WORKS ALONG THE WEST GATE FREEWAY JULY / AUGUST 2016
We are writing to inform you about continued works that will take place in your area to build an additional lane on the West Gate Freeway as part of the CityLink Tulla Widening project.
Where we will beWe will be working along the inbound and outbound lanes of the West Gate Freeway between the Bolte Bridge exit ramp and the Montague Street exit ramp, Port Melbourne, as shown in red and blue on the map below.
What the works involveDuring July / August 2016, the following activities will take place along the West Gate Freeway:
Tuesday 26 July to Friday 5 August, 9pm to 4amWe will be installing the new pavement along the freeway between the rear of 174 to 63 Lorimer Street, Port Melbourne
Tuesday 26 July, 10pm to 4amWe will be installing new screens onto concrete barriers along the freeway at the rear of 8 Anderson Street, Port Melbourne
Wednesday 27 to Sunday 31 July, 7am to 6pmWe will be locating underground services using a non-destructive digging (NDD) truck along the freeway at the rear of 8 Anderson Street, Port Melbourne
What to expectWhile these works will not impact your property, you may experience:
Traffic management including signage and personnel to temporarily close lanes on the West Gate Freeway
Increased traffic on the West Gate Freeway; we encourage you to plan your journey in advance and allow extra time for travel
Noise from heavy equipment including excavators, asphalt trucks, non-destructive digging truck (NDD) and other site vehicles
Teams of construction personnel at work
We are committed to keeping residents and businesses informed and minimising the inconvenience during construction, while keeping the community and our workers safe at all times. Managing and protecting the environment is also important to us and we are working with local and state government adhering to environmental laws to ensure any impact to the natural ecosystem is minimised.
This work may be rescheduled in the event of unsuitable weather or other unavoidable circumstances.
