A cinematic rom-com live on stage!

This fizzy concoction takes the classic ingredients of romantic comedy - love, humour, coincidence and fantasy - and serves them up with a surprisingly touching twist... Strawberries in January is a biting, heart-warming comedy about four romantically challenged singletons who stumble through contemporary Montréal in search of love.

If only life could be like the movies!

Directed by Alistair Ganley

Kick In The Head in association with Noted For Music My Dog’s Got No Nose by Ron Aldridge Saturday 5th May 7.30pm After his highly acclaimed performance in Old Herbaceous, Giles Shenton returns to Cygnet My Dog’s Got No Nose.

Before venturing into the limelight and picking up the microphone for his very first performance, a stand-up comedian regales us with stories and tales about his life and experiences. Sometimes funny, sometimes sad, sometimes poignant and often laugh-out-loud hilarious, he shares his soul, reminiscing about his early career as a furniture-salesman-turned- photographer, his love, marriage and his ambitions. As this funny and bittersweet story unfolds we discover that both the man and the performance are not quite what they seem.

“Giles Shenton gifts us with another tour de force...

catch it while you can!” Surrey Advertiser

Cygnet Graduate Showcase Production Constellations by Nick Payne Directed by Ed Hulme Alma Theatre, Bristol

May 10 11 12 8.00pm One relationship. Infinite possibilities. Listen to me please. The basic laws of physics don’t have a past and a present. Time is irrelevant at the level of atoms and molecules. It’s symmetrical. We have all the time we’ve always had. You’ll still have all our time.

Constellations is a dazzling two-hander about free will and friendship, quantum multiverse theory, love and honey. Nick Payne’s “Astonishingly fine new play” The Independent 2012 is laced with humour, pathos and wisdom. “Nick Payne’s ‘Constellations’, with Marissa Rowell and Damian Schedler Cruz will be remembered by all who see it. Don’t miss it.” Avril Silk remotegoat *****

‘Cry havoc and let slip the dogs of war’

The Actor’s Wheel return with a contemporary and striking production of Shakespeare’s searing political thriller.

Caesar returns in triumph to Rome and the people take to the streets. But not all the voices of the city are raised in celebration. Fearing the rise of tyranny, what should the honourable citizen do? Shakespeare’s searing political thriller asks, if violence can ever be justified in opposing tyranny? What does freedom cost?

“Horrifying yet captivating… a production with real depth and dimension” (King Lear tour 2017) “Excellent work from The Actor’s Wheel. Shakespeare as you have never seen it before.” (The Winter’s Tale tour 2016)

“Watching them perform is like stepping into a dream… Each time you think they must be running out of ideas, the next scene surprises you further” (Faustus tour 2015)

As a dramatist, the prolific J. B. Priestley (An Inspector Calls) has never fallen from fashion, but a number of his plays have been neglected. The Long Mirror [1940] is one of these.

Set in a Welsh guest house, over a few hours the lives of three young people are radically changed. The Long Mirror is a powerful combination of strained personal relationships caught up in Priestley’s own fascination with the seeming tricks that time can play.

Baroque Theatre CompanyTWISTby Miles Tredinnick Directed by Adam MorleyUK Theatre Tour Wednesday 30th May 7.30pm Set in the 1990’s in the affluent Hampstead area of London, TWIST tells the tense but hilarious story of mild-mannered accountant David, who sees a sensational way of making a fortune by writing a kiss-and-tell biography about his venomous wife Sarah. However, the play takes a turn when David realises that the book will do even better if Sarah, the nation’s favourite celebrity from hit soap Doctors and Nurses, is actually murdered! How will he do it and just what will happen?

TWIST is written by Miles Tredinnick, a rock musician, songwriter and stage and screen writer who has written for the hit BBC1 television series Birds of a Feather and the late great Frankie Howerd. Miles is also known as Riff Regan, the founder member of the rock-band London.

TWIST is a slick, stlylish, edgy thriller with echoes of Tarantino’s hit film Pulp Fiction, that will have audiences guessing until the shocking end.

The Actor’s Wheel The Trial (adapted by Steven Berkoff)

Thursday 31st May 7.30pm

‘But I’m not guilty, there’s been a mistake’… … ‘But that is exactly how the guilty speak’

The Actor’s Wheel return with a visually striking production of Kafka’s infamous literary classic, painting a dark, kaleidoscopic, absurdist world, which questions our freedom, explores our paranoia, examines the human condition and challenges our perceptions of guilt. Berkoff ’s visceral adaptation is brought to life by a dynamic and vibrant ensemble in this highly physical, and mind boggling production.

“Dark and disturbing, it chilled me to the bone… a superb piece of theatre that draws you in and spits you back out.” (A Clockwork Orange tour 2017)

“The Actor’s Wheel have produced a truly powerful performance. Flawless and captivating from start to finish.” (The Caucasian Chalk Circle tour 2016)

Raving Mask Presents The Conductor Based on a novel by Sarah Quigley Directed by Jared McNeillWednesday 6th June 7.30pm

From the devastation of the Leningrad Blockade, 1941, came one of the most life-affirming pieces of music ever to be composed. Dmitri Shostakovich’s 7th Symphony lifted an entire city in its darkest hour, instilling renewed faith in our capabilities as individuals, as well as the unifying spirit of a people as one.

The Conductor is a concert-play: a story told, and woven within the music of the symphony itself. They watched the skies, waiting for anything to lift their hearts, and their prayers were answered in a moment that revealed the true dignity and power that art may serve.
