A personal message
Digitalisation is changing the DNA of our economy. New business models are emerging and established procedures are being optimised through networking and intelligent control and management. This was clearly apparent at this year’s CeBIT and Hannover Industrial Trade Fair.
Digital transformation is one of the main structural challenges to be faced over the next few years. We want to establish Germany as Europe’s number-one digital growth country and to play a leading role in the ongoing digitali-sation of our business activities, lives and workplaces in a credible and secure manner. And we must work together to focus sharply on the questions that will arise in this area: What are the current trends and drivers? Why are digital start-ups important? What do established companies have to do to remain viable?
Against this background I very much welcome the fact that CeBIT, which is the world’s largest IT trade fair, has organised a new conference and I am delighted that the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy will be act-ing as patron for this event.
The conference ‘d!conomy. Boosting success with digital transformation’ will be your opportunity to give the eco nomy a new momentum and to set the course towards the digital age.
Sigmar Gabriel,Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy
