Quality Cretan Olive oil is a major product for APOLLONIA for a
variety of reasons
Olive oil is the main product of Crete, since thousands years
ago, meaning that there is a vast knowledge and experience
on cultivation of the olive tree and production of olive oil.
Produced quantities of good olive oil are high enough to
cover exports from demanding customers in different
countries.
Quality extra virgin olive oil is a trend in many countries
today, due to it’s significant positive affect in our health and
our well being, with increased quantities every year
THE HISTORY & THE
ANCIENT OLIVE TREE OF VOUVESIt is the Cretans who are credited with
the first olive oil production for organized trade.
Archeologists have found evidence (clay jars,
recordings on tablets and the remains of oil
mills) that the Minoans had the most productive
olive groves in Greece and often exported their
olive oil to the rest of mainland Greece and the
Aegean islands, as well as Egypt and Syria, as it
was deemed to be of the best quality.
The monumental Ancient Olive Tree of Vouves,
the oldest olive tree in the world (>3000 years
old), has been declared as “natural heritage
monument”.
Its branches are used to prepare the wreath for
the Olympic games Marathon winner every 4
years

our liquid cold.
•We collect olives from the region and by close cooperation
with more that 1100 farmers (under AGRO 2-1, 2-2
standards) , we are able to guarantee both quantities and

PRODUCTION FACILITIESModern, newly constructed and high capacity facilities (with advanced
infrastructure for olive oil extraction, storage and bottling) at Kolymvari, ensuring
all aspects of olive oil production and bottling are managed from a single site.

• Innovative design, fully automated production offering lower
production cost and total control of all the production aspects
• Continuous extraction, quality classification of the olives on
receiving and two-phase extraction guarantee the highest quality of
olive oil with fast and reliable service to our farmers
• Environmental friendly construction by using solar tubes for
internal lighting system and two-phase extraction technique to avoid
water waste and environmental pollution
• All production machinery are made from 100% stainless steel 316L,
and are multi-certified with IFS, ISO 22000:2005 (HACCP), ISO
9001:2008, Kosher, BIOHELLAS NOP-USDA, KRAV and ECOCERT for
Organic Olive Oil extraction.

• Four floors of offices with a total area of 2,500 sq. meters,
• Two automatic bottling lines with a capacity of 4,000 bottles per hour,
• Three semi-automatic bottling lines with a capacity of 600 containers per hour for special bottles or tins,
• Flexibility for using a variety of different bottles or tins,
• Twelve stainless steel, olive oil storage tanks with a total capacity of 2,100 tones,
• Multi-certified total quality management systems: IFS, ISO 22000:2005 (HACCP), ISO 9001:2008, Kosher, BIOHELLAS NOP-USDA, ECOCERT and KRAV for organic olive oil production.
