Nature Day project continues it’s main goal which is taking care for the environment and educating children about nature. We have a cooperation with the public enterprise “Komunalec” and once a month we make cleaning action on a location that it’s shown from them like a polluted area or wild garbage dump. The second weekend in October we had Nature Day on the street Sava Mihajlov in Gevgelija, children’s park and green areas around the buildings there more specifically. This is a second time that Nature Day team cleans this location, and this time sixty children were part of it. Our next cleaning action will be in the village Negorci.

Book promotion - “One way” from Stefan Markovski

On Tuesday 6th of October in Hotel Apollonia was held a promotion of the book “One way” from the young author from Gevgelija Stefan Markovski. This book won the reward for best novel “Petre M. Andreevski” for 2009 from the foundation Ramkovski. Nineteen years old Stefan won this price on the third literature competition that Ramkovski foundation is organiz-ing. How important and prestigeous this reward is among writers can be seen from the fact that this year the foundation re-ceived 136 typescripts. Stefan started writing when he was eleven years old and in 2008 he also won the price for his essay “Zoonski glasnik” on competition of the Macedonian academy for sciences and arts.

“...its originality, its mystics and the hope that this will be the Macedonian Kami who will bring on his shoulders the wager to successfully cross over the Macedonian traditional cliché and pass trough the usual stories. I’ve always said that people don’t want to read about stories that happen to them every day. So in the interests of the new I end this speech with the massage that is composed in the very title of the book: Every life starts from one point and ends in another, but meanwhile “Lets try not to ruin the world. We are here just temporary.” , Aneta Vaseliva (editor and promoter of the book)

“United in diversity” is the title of Divna Pešič’s most recent series of paint-ings that the public in Gev-gelija during October had an opportunity to see in the exhibitory parlor of Apollonia Hotel. Divna is more famous as professional sportsman since she has been the best shooter of all times in Re-public of Macedonia in the discipline of small caliber rifle and air-rifle, by holding

36 state records in both fe-male and male competitions. She graduated philology, currently is a graduate stu-dent of Management and Banking, works as a Account Manger and this amazing woman also has very suc-cessful career as artist. Divna started with painting when she was only 13, and so far has had a number of exhibition at home and abroad.

Her first exhibition in Gevgelija, which took place in Hotel Apollonija on the 16th of October, was announced as her sev-enth solo exhibition. The organizer of this art event was Apollonia Foundation, on the occasion of 25 years celebration of Apollonia Casino and Apollonia Group.

With congratulations for the celebration the exhibition was opened from the mayor of Gevgelija.

Around 120 people from the local council for preven-tion and other consultative associations of citizens had the op-portunity to be part of the three day training which was about building authority and capacitance among them. This seminar was organized in Strumica from the department for develop-ment of the Police which is part from the mission OSCE. People who took place in the training besides the police were the may-ors of the municipalities which are near Strumica, presidents of the councils, directors of schools and high schools, directors of social cervices, representatives from the direction for protection and saving, traffic and communal inspectors, people from the public enterprise Macedonia Forests, representatives from the religion communities, doctors, public attorneys, people from OSCE and many more.

A p o l l o n i a F o u n d a t i o n was present as non govern-ment organiza-tion and we support these kind of semi-nars that bring closer and rein-force all sec-tors of the community

Donate BOOK!

On the occasion of the month of the book, the library in Gevgelija from 15th of October until 15th of November is organizing few projects for popularization and affirmation of the book. One of these project is the beneficent action for collecting old books for the school libraries, which was organ-ized in a joined cooperation between the library Goce Delcev and Apollonia Foundation.

On the 20th of October in front of the library in the center of the town was placed a stand for col-lecting old books. The result from the action that continued one

week was 215 books. All books will be donated in the school Kliment Ohridski from Miravci, according to the official reports from the schools about their book funds, this is the school with less number of titles and total number of books. It’s in our plans in future to continue with activities like this one because the libraries in the schools are poor with books, and we already scheduled the next collective action for the book fair in December.

“...Today in our company we have 360 people employed from the local community. Together with the development of the company we also generate the development of the micro economy in the region using local suppliers, and the fact that 99% of our costumers are from Greece, it’s obvious the contribution that we make for the income in the local economy .”

Quote from the interview with Maria Kling (general manager) about the celebration of 25 Years Apollonia Casino and Apollonia Group and the first foreign investment in Gevgelija.

“ The greatest value is attributed not to those who give, but to

those who receive without feel-ing indebted. The person who

possesses material goods gives a little, but the person who pos-

sesses himself gives a lot.”
