MODULARITY IN SIZE ANDPERFORMANCE, FROM URBAN ROADSTO MOTORWAYS

The Akila range is scalable in size and flux level (steps of48 LEDs) thanks to its extruded design. With 48 LEDs, the Akila luminaire is ideally suited tolighting urban streets and pedestrian areas. With 288 LEDs, it is a proven beneficial LED alternative tohigh-power 250W/400W high-pressure sodium lamps forlighting large roads, wide avenues and motorways.

The Akila range was developed with the goal of providinga performing LED luminaire with a minimum total costof ownership. The Akila is not only an economical LEDluminaire, it offers a dramatic reduction in energyconsumption. It is a very cost-effective solution for thewhole lifecycle of a lighting installation.

    ENERGY SAVINGS UP TO 75%

The Akila luminaire integrates the latest cutting edge solutions. The combination of LED technology, a driver working within a constant flux programme and a dimmingsystem makes it possible to achieve energy savings that can reach 75% comparedwith old HID luminaires.

With this very favourable energy balance, the Akila luminaire contributes to theeffective management of public finances and to the responsible use of energy.

    ABSOLUTE MODULARITY

Thanks to photometric engines composed of modular quantities of LEDs, the Akilaluminaire can offer a wide range of lumen packages from 6,000 up to40,000 lm. This modularity in size and performance is accompanied by a widevariety of drivers and dimming options in order to take the best advantages of aperforming LED solution.By offering this absolute flexibility, Akila ensures that the light distributions arespecifically adapted to the real needs of the area to be lit.

    RESISTS HIGH TEMPERATURES

The Akila luminaire is designed to operate reliably in every par t of the world, even the hottest regions. Due to its extruded design, it achieves an excellentthermal conductivity of 200W/mK.The Akila perfectly withstands high temperatures (Ta up to 55C depending on themodel) which enables it to be installed in regions with the warmest climates atnight.

    LENSOFLEX 2

Akila luminaires are equipped with second generation LensoFlex 2 photometricengines that have been specifically developed for lighting spaces where the well-being and safety of people using the environments are essential. This system is based upon the addition principle of photometric distribution. EachLED is associated with a specific lens that generates the complete photometricdistribution of the luminaire. It is the number of LEDs in combination with the drivingcurrent that determines the intensity level of the light distribution.

    FUTUREPROOF

Using state-of-the-art technology, Akila luminaires have been designed to fulfil theFutureProof concept. The optical unit can be removed, allowing replacement in order to take advantage offuture technological developments. At any stage during the service life, all modelscan be equipped with a completely new LEDSafe optical unit.
