Airline support & new routes
Incentive package for airlines from 1 July 2020 until 31 March 2021. The
incentive is a rebate of €2 for departing passengers and €1 for transfer
passengers for a period of nine months. This will automatically be
deducted from the bi-monthly aeronautical charges invoice.
RECOVERY INCENTIVE JUL20 - MAR21
RECOVERY INCENTIVE APR21 - DEC21
The consultation on aeronautical charges for April 2021 – March 2026 has
been postponed with two years. Therefore charges as from April 2021 will
only go up with CPI.
Brussels Airport will thus neutralize this increase for nine months, from
April 2021 until December 2021 with a new recovery incentive of €0,30 for
departing passengers and €0,15 for transfer passengers. This will
automatically be deducted from the bi-monthly aeronautical charges
invoice. The consultation will be launched January 2022, with
implementation as from April 2023. The current new destination
incentives and growth incentives remain valid for these extra two years.

Traffic growth initiatives
To promote all airlines and their destinations we use 4 different websites. Everybody knows our main Brussels
Airport website but some of you may forget we also have a website called BRUXX, that focusses on Belgian
residents between 18 and 34 years. On BRUXX we show some of the cheaper European and North African flights
from Brussels Airport. Apart from that we also maintain dedicated websites for The Netherlands and for France.
4
TRAVEL INTENTIONS SURVEY
Do you know we also develop travel guides to promote destinations and to inspire travellers? We have over 40
travel guides introducing destinations all around the world. These guides can be found on our different websites.
Curious? Check out the travel guides for Dubai, Tangier and Rome!

52% of Belgian residents took a flight in 2019.
Brussels Airport launched a regular online survey in
November 2020 to register the willingness to travel
again in 2021. In November 2020 already 61% of
the travellers in 2019 wished to return to the skies
in 2021. In January and February this share has
increased to 65%.

All information on the latest restrictions and
mandatory requirements is available on the
COVID-19 information website. Please note that
Belgium follows the colour code provided in the
ECDC map.
From 27 January to 1 March, only essential travel
to and from Belgium is allowed. Every passenger
needs to be in the possession of a declaration of

All arriving passengers in Belgium still have to fill
in the Passenger Locator Form before boarding the
aircraft. All non-Belgian passengers need to be in
the possession of a negative PCR test before
boarding the plane as well.
Belgian passengers need to take 2 PCR tests when
returning home from a red zone after a stay longer
than 48 hours: one upon arrival and one 7 days
after arrival in Belgium. All passengers coming from
a red zone have to follow the quarantine measures.
Exceptions are made for residents and visitors with
business travel reasons, that can be registered via
the Business Travel Abroad form.
