The  benefits  of  E  learning  for  us  include:  

 Ø Time  efficiency  

Ø Cost  efficiency  

Ø   Learners  ability  to  learn  what  they  want  and  when  they  want  

Ø Best  approach  for  a  large  network  of  banks  with  standardized  approaches  

Ø Best  approach  for  a  low  average  staff  age  of  29   Tausi  Nasamu  

Ø  In  2015,  CGAP  &  ABZ  discussed  possibility  of  E  learning    

Ø  Digital  Financial  Services  was  idenWfied  as  priority  training  need  

Ø  June  2016  ABZ  partnered  with  Helix  InsWtute  of  Digital  Financial  Services  –Kenya  

Ø  TNA  was  conducted  in  August  2016  and  course  developed    

Ø  Conducted  three  different    trainings  in  2017  with  a  total  of  52  learners

Challenges of E learning for ABZ

§  Inadequate computers

§  Limited Internet Access to most staff

§  Inadequate local capacity to support E learning Initiatives

§  Fear of staff spending more time on E learning rather than their work

§  Bandwidth limitations

§  Fear of replacing face to face trainings

Challenges

§  Creation of E lab plus a computer room at each branch

§  Grant limited internet Access to LMS

§  Support from holding level and plans to increase capacity at local level

§  Most of the operational positions are target oriented and easy to evaluate performance

§  Bandwidth test was positive §  Emphasis on blended courses
