Welcome to the ninth annual Ranch Ready Bull Sale. It's a good time to be in the cattle industry with high calf prices and abundant feed supplies. “Touch Wood”.

On offer this year will be 55 top cut Ranch Ready Bulls. Thirty stout, easy keeping two year olds as well as 20 yearlings. This sale is full of outcross genetics to the Canadian Hereford Industry. New this year, there will also be an offering of open commercial heifers, sired by Ranch Ready Bulls.

We would like to honour a strong Hereford enthusiast, Norah Gillespie who passed away December 10, 2012. In Norah's memory the Gillespie Family is donating a purebred heifer to sell with all proceeds to the Canadian Diabetes Association.

An ET calf, out of our Reality 78T cow, the 2011 Agribition Reserve Champion Female and sired by Bob. We are retaining a full brother for a Junior Herdsire. We feel the maternal power in this 78T/Bob cross will be hard to beat

Reality 78T's natural calf by Bob. We think so much of 78T, that we flushed her twice. We are looking forward to her multipule flush calves that will be coming this spring. 78T's flush calves last year really left their mark. Her calves were part of both the Bull Champion and Heifer Champion pens at the Medicine Hat All Breeds Pen Show.

A tank of a Bob son, out of a moderate framed 9454 cow that's hard to fault. Dam is a maternal sib to Lot 13. 125Z was part of our Agribition string, where he stood second in class between two of his “Bob” brothers. 125Z was also part of the 2012 Medicine Hat pen show champion pen of bulls.

A goggle eye Bob son out of an easy keeping Excursion cow. 144Z is a maternal sib to Lot 22. Moderate bull here with lots of style and eye appeal.

Moderate BW, fully pigmented Bob son. 19Z's dam is a 10 year old cow with a beautiful udder.

Powerful 4S son, out of 152N, one of the most consistent cows on the ranch. 152N has raised 7 bulls and one replacement female and is still going strong at the age of 10. 4 out of her 7 bull calves have been shown at Agribition. Stout powerful son by 4W. Lots of good momma cows back in this pedigree. Old 2G on the top and 22N, 1G and 50S on the bottom side. 124Z was a class winner at the 2012 Hardisty Field Day.

4W son bred very similar to Lot 8 tracing back to 1G and 50S as well. This calf is VERY docile. If you're looking to “slow down” some cows and raise top end replacements, this is the bull.

116Z is a heifers first calf. His dam is a nice tight uddered cow that did a real good job on her first calf. Maternal Granddam, 122K, raised 11 calves. 116Z is short mark and pigmented.

The 73T/129S combo seems to really click. Loads of performance here. 193Z is a maternal brother to Lot 14. Same cow family as lots 2 & 3.

Gil 42Z: A bull that has made a lot of friends all summer long. Moderate, thick topped and excellent haired. We plan on using 42Z in our program. Sire is our 929 bull whom sired Coopers 2012 high seller at $160,000. Dam to 42Z is a good uddered, thick hard working cow. Her first calf is LOT 38 and her mother is the mother to LOT 46. We feel 42Z is a real herd bull. RETAINING ¼ FULL SEMEN INTEREST.

Gill 2Z: ¾ brother to LOT 28. A thick butted bull with lots of length. Dam is one of my best 24P daughters and grandmother “2K” is the mother to our 3U herd bull and in our flush program. The cow families behind 2Z are unbeatable on both sides of his pedigree. Full sister will calve in 2013.

Don 17Z: Big, powerful bull full of performance. Look at the length in this bull. The L1 cross has produced calves that are over 110lbs heavier than our other sire groups when we weighed in January. This is like a hybrid vigor. This will be passed onto our customers through these bulls. Dam to 17Z is a big volume,excellent uddered Superman cow. Full sister to calve in 2013.

Don 5Z: Good haired, yellow bull with 100% eye pigment and a great disposition. Mother is a very good uddered Superman cow with lots of volume. The Superman cows keep producing our best. All kinds of maternal in this bull. Dam has 4 daughters in the herd.5Z is pictured on our website.

Don 9Z: A bull with a tremendous top and butt. Tons of hair and length of body. His sire, 192X, sired our heaviest sire group of bull calves. We have retained a top 192X son for our own herd and the rest are sold. Dam was purchased from Lilybrook Herefords at the Supremecy sale where she was a feature heifer.

Don 7Z: Short marked, well pigmented bull out of our $25,000 Cooper bull. He has sired the longest bodied cattle we have ever had. Reports from Coopers say the 929 daughters that have calved are great uddered. Dam of 7Z is a perfect uddered cow with lots of guts. She is in our flush program.

Gil 1Z: A good haired,short marked, growthy 929 son. Dam is a really nice uddered yellow cow. The 929 cross on our 18R females have really produced some nice heifers.

Don 27Z: An eye-appealing, well muscled bull out of our new Nixdorf bull. Dam is a hard working cow that was purchased from Lilybrook Herefords. 27Z is pictured on our website.

Gil 30Z: One of my favorites! Tons of yellow hair and a big thick butt. I think a bull that is hard to fault. Sire is our 2011 RRBS high seller at $10,250. We are really impressed with his calves. Dam of 30Z is an excellent uddered cow that has always produced some of our best. Dehorned.

Gil 27Z: Recommended for use on heifers. A good bull with excellent muscle and yellow hair. His sire is a home raised bull that is our heifer specialist. His sire was used on heifers here until he was 10 years old. 46W sires calves with birth weights between 70-85lbs and have lots of get up and go in them. Dam of 27Z is a moderate excellent uddered first calf heifer.

Gil 3Y: Recommended for use on heifers. Excellent footed, thick butted bull with a very moderate birth weight. Dam is the mother of LOT 28. Sire is producing light birth weight calves that are moderate, deep, thick calves. Some of them are our best heifers in our replacement pen.

Gil 48Y: A moderate birth weight bull out of our 1U sire that really added thickness to his calves and left us excellent females. Dam will be 13 this spring and has numerous daughters in our herd. This is just a young bull.

Don 22Y: A hard muscled, long bodied bull with lots of eye appeal and pigment. Dam is a Superman cow that traces back to Hermans “39D” bull, whom left them some of their best cows. Sire is a bull we leased from Glass land and Cattle where he is doing an excellent job for them.

Don 9Y: The last son to be offered out of the 631s herd bull. He has left us a great set of females and is now working for Joe Burgess, Piapot, SK.. 9y is growth, yellow, perfect legs and feet and is out of one our best Superman cows.

Gil 10Y: A bull with a super disposition and good muscle. Dam is a moderate framed good uddered cow. Grandmother will 14 this spring and still producing great.

All the money from the sale of this heifer will go to the DIABETES ASSOCIATION.15Z is a sweetheart of a heifer. She is yellow,moderate framed and comes out of the heart of our replacement pen. She is double bred 82B, 77J and our donor cow 9K. Her dam is a terrific 24P first calver with a perfect udder. Her sire is our home raised heifer bull that is doing such a great job for us. We are offering to take 15Z back and have her bred or we would even offer to take her back on a share basis with her new owner. I feel she will make a tremendous cow.
