    Sales are occasions when a shop reduces the prices of some of the goods it sells. For example, there are summer sales, Christmas sales, end of season sales.

    Hire purchase is a method of buying goods by making regular payments for them over aperiod of time until the whole amount is paid. The article belongs to the buyer only whenall the payments have been made. The store usually expects to receive a down payment,that is, a first payment, before the goods are handed over.

    Plazas in Hungary are similar to shopping malls where there are several shops, restaurants and entertainment facilities such as cinemas, bowling alleys, amusement arcades and squash courts. So people can do lots of things in one place.

    Hypermarkets are far from town centre, so when you go there, you dont buy only one or two products, but do your shopping for a longer period.

    I can pay in cash or by bank or credit card. Paying with cards is becoming more and more frequent and safer as I have to give my PIN code when I want to use the card. Moreover, its more expensive to withdraw money from cash dispensers than to pay with a card in a shop, in which case banks dont charge the card holder.

    12. What are the role of advertisements in connection with shopping?

    Advertisements try to convince people that it is worth buying a certain product and to achieve this, they present all the good characteristics of it.

    13. How can customer habits be influenced by advertisements?

    Efficient advertisements manage to make people shift to a new brand or try a new service, especially if the product or service is advertised by a famous person whose opinion they consider important and trust. On the other hand, commercials can be misleading.

    Advertisements increase sales by making a product or service known to a wider audience by emphasizing their positive qualities. A good commercial should be eye-catching, surprising and should include a slogan or short phrase to attract the customers attention. Effective slogans are usually short, easy to remember and easy to repeat. Good TV and radio commercials often employ and feature children and animals.

    15. Who are international fairs organised for?

    International fairs are organised mainly for professionals who want to establish new business contacts and have some information on new trends and the products of their competitors.

    The most famous department store in London is Harrods. It has 300 departments and a staff of 4000. You can buy virtually anything there.
