Una produzione tutta italiana

• Il ciclo produttivo inizia con il taglio del mate-riale grezzo delle fibre composite in pezzi unici eforme diverse in base alla taglia della calotta daprodurre ed ai requisiti di omologazione.Il processo di stampaggio viene quindi effettuatoa mano e la calotta controllata per verificarne laconformità del peso e dello spessore stabilito.

• Segue il taglio completamente automatico congetto d'acqua. In questo passaggio viene data alcasco la forma finale. Tutte le parti non necessa-rie vengono eliminate ed incisi bordo inferiore, foriper la ventilazione e per la visiera.Successivamente il casco viene smerigliato elucidato a mano per ottenere una superficieperfettamente liscia ed omogenea prima dipassare alla fase della verniciatura.

• In ogni fase della produzione, vengono eseguitirigorosi controlli di qualità. La frequente presenzadi controlli durante tutta la fase di produzionegarantisce la “qualità superiore Suomy”.

• Il processo di verniciatura automatizzato ècostituito da due fasi. Nella prima fase si applicauno strato di colore che facilita l’applicazionedelle decalcomanie sul casco. Nella seconda faseviene applicato un rivestimento trasparente airaggi UV, che evita ogni scolorimento della gra-fica del casco.L’automazione di alcune fasi del processo pro-duttivo e l’utilizzo di tecnologie e materiali al-l’avanguardia sono molto importanti al giornod’oggi ma il lavoro manuale gioca un ruolo im-portante nella produzione dei caschi Suomy e fala differenza.

• Le grafiche sono applicate in un ambiente aumidità e temperatura controllate, tassativamentesenza polvere per assicurare che la loro applica-zione sia esente da qualsiasi contaminante.L’applicazione delle decal rappresenta una fasecomplessa, che solo mani esperte ed allenatepossono svolgere.

• Il cinturino del casco viene fissato alla calottacon l’aiuto di una macchina automatica, mentrel’interno in EPS viene inserito a mano.

• Le prese d’aria, i meccanismi, le imbottiture e lavisiera vengono poi assemblati con estrema cura.

• Le ultime fasi della linea di produzione sonol'assemblaggio e il confezionamento.

Una volta che il casco è assemblato viene nuo-vamente controllato per garantire la massimaqualità di lavorazione.Prima del confezionamento, il personale effettual'ultimo controllo per poi apporre l’etichettaCONTROLLO QUALITA’ sulla parte esterna dellascatola.

• Il casco è pronto per la spedizione. Un cascoeccellente, curato nei minimi particolari in tutte lefasi del processo produttivo per essere indossatoda motociclisti esigenti ed esperti.

100% hand made in Italy!

• The manufacturing cycle starts by cutting theraw fibreglass material into single pieces anddifferent shapes based on the shell and ho-mologation requirements.The moulding process is then done by handand the weight of every shell is checked andapproved when it is within the specified weightrange.

• Next a fully automated water jet cutter cutsout the primary parts of the shell like the eyeportal/visor, lower border and holes for venti-lation, as well as, other key parts.

• At each stage of production, strict qualitycontrols are adhered to ensuring that everydistinct component of the helmet is inspectedand checked for optimum quality.In addition, every shell is prepared by hand toobtain the smoothest surface possible beforemoving on to the painting stages.

• The automated shell painting process con-sist of two stages. Stage one applies the basecoat so that helmet decal/graphics can then beapplied. Stage two applies a UV clear coat,which prevents any fading of the helmet graphics.

• The graphic decals are applied in a humidityand temperature controlled clean room to en-sure their precise application free of any con-taminants.

• The helmet’s chinstrap is affixed to the shellby an automated machine, while the energyabsorbing EPS liner is inserted by hand.

• The visor installation process assures itscorrect positioning with an airtight seal andproper adjustment of the visor mechanisms.

• The last steps of the production line are theassembly and the packaging.Once the helmet is assembled it is then chec-ked to ensure the highest quality workman-ship.

• Before packaging, the staff carries out thelast visual check before affixing the QUALITYCONTROL CHECK sticker on the outside ofthe box assuring that the helmet has passedSuomy’s stringent quality control inspectionbefore shipment.The helmet is now ready to be worn by skilledmotorcyclists.

Il progetto 1000Miglia-SUOMY nasce in colla-borazione con gli organizzatori di quella che èstata definita da Enzo Ferrari “la corsa piùbella del mondo”: la Millemiglia.Un progetto che parte dalla realizzazione didue linee di caschi, una stile Vintage, l’altrastile Urban.La linea caschi Vintage rispecchia il saporeantico e la storia di questa grande corsa. Tremodelli di cui uno da usare rigorosamentecon gli occhialoni.La linea caschi Urban è moderna ed includecaschi dalle colorazioni sobrie dei bianchi edei neri.

Emozioni, ricordi e sogni di una corsa leg-gendaria in un prodotto di classe e tradizionetutta italiana: “Millemiglia-Suomy”.

SCS

• Suomy Communication Sytem

Il nuovo prodotto SCS (Suomy CommunicationSystem) offre importanti novità nel mercatodegli interfoni bluetooth per caschi motocicli-stici. In aggiunta alle comuni funzionalità checonsentono il collegamento del sistema ad untelefonino (per conversare in piena sicurezza eper ascoltare i propri brani mp3 in alta fedeltàstereo) e di colloquiare con il proprio compa-gno di viaggio, l’IBS presenta in anteprima as-soluta l’integrazione di una radio FM e disistema bluetooth classe 1 in versione 2.1.

L’eccellente qualità della radio FM non richiedeulteriori descrizioni mentre grazie al nuovissimosottosistema bluetooth è possibile colloquiarea distanze di anche 200m (a seconda dellecondizioni stradali) con i propri compagni diviaggio e molto altro ancora.

Ad esempio durante le gite fuori porta è possi-bile impostare l’SCS nella modalità ricercaamici, in questa modalità quando due SCS siincontrano si scambiano un file vocale di pre-sentazione consentendo quindi di collegarsi ininterfono con chi sta condividendo la stessastrada.

Inoltre l’SCS è completamente configurabilecon estrema facilità grazie al software per pcincluso nella confezione. E’ possibile creare lapropria lista di radio preferite, impostare i “ca-schi amici” con cui comunicare oltre ad altreconfigurazioni di più generale utilità.

Il sistema SCS viene venduto a parte in trekit e non come primo equipaggiamentocasco.

Operation:The "Start Communication System" kit (K1)provides the assembly base required for theoperation and use of the "Bluetooth Commu-nication System" kit (K2). For installation ca-refully follow the instructions contained in thebooklet inside the box.

- Single helmet:when purchasing just one D2O it is mandatory to pur-chase kit K1 and kit K2. It is therefore possible to ex-ploit all the functionalities of the SCS system (for theexplanation of the K2 kit see relating sheet).

- Two D2O helmets:when purchasing no. 2 D2O helmets, we have twochoices.The first and easiest is to install kit 1 and kit 2 on bothhelmets, thus exploiting all the functionalities of theSCS system on the single helmets and especially theconnection between the two helmets.

Otherwise, one helmet can be fitted with kit 1 and kit2; the second helmet can be fitted with kit 1 and kit 3(for explanation of kit K3 see relating sheet).The first helmet will exploit all the functionalities of theSCS system whereas the second helmet will be po-wered by the first and will have limited functionalities.We recommend referring to the installation bookletinside the box.

Operation:The "Bluetooth Communication System" kit(K2) provides the final upgrade for the instal-lation of the Suomy SCS System. For installa-tion carefully follow the instructions containedin the booklet inside the box.

- Single helmet:when purchasing just one D2O it is mandatory to pur-chase kit K1 and kit K2. It is therefore possible to exploitall the functionalities of the SCS system which meansconnecting your mobile phone or mp3 to the helmet;this will allow you to listen to your favourite music or an-swer your mobile phone while riding your motorcycle(ALWAYS remember to comply with the laws in forceon road safety in the country of sale). It is also possi-ble to connect your helmet through Bluetooth to thepassenger’s helmet fitted with another kit K2 or connectit using the supplied wire with the kit K3 (this option fo-resees the installation of kit K1 as explained previou-sly). For more thorough explanation refer to the userand maintenance manual supplied with the kit.

- Two D2O helmets:when purchasing no. 2 D2O helmets both fitted withkit K2, we can on both helmets use all the technicalfunctions mentioned above and in case of connec-tion with Bluetooth we can use all the technical spe-cifications mentioned above with both helmets. Referto the user and maintenance manual supplied withthe kit the various functions.

SCS

• Suomy Communication Sytem

The new SCS product (Suomy CommunicationSystem) offers important new features for themarket of Bluetooth inter-com systems for hel-mets. In addition to the typical functions thatenable connection with a mobile phone (tospeak in safety and listen to mp3 files in hi-fistereo) and communication with the passenger,SCS also has an integrated FM radio andBluetooth class 1 system in version 2.1.

The excellent quality of the FM radio does notrequire further descriptions and thanks to thenew Bluetooth sub-system it is possible tospeak at a distance of even 200m (accordingto the conditions of the road) with the othertravellers and much more.

For example, during journeys it is possible toset the SCS to the “search friend” modality andwhen two SCS meet they exchange a vocalintroduction file thus activating connection withother people travelling along the same road.

Furthermore, the SCS can be easily configuredthanks to the supplied PC software. It is possi-ble to create a list of favourite radio stations, set“helmet friends” to communicate with and othermore general configurations.

The SCS system is not sold with the helmetand it is not considered a priority equipment forthe helmet.

Three possible kits are available.
