1. Cargo cleats (each side)

Modified or Deleted FeaturesThe following features have been ei-ther modified or deleted for this spe-cific model.
Throttle LeverWhen the engine is stopped, no fuel isinjected when depressing the throttlelever. The carburetors are replaced bya throttle body. Any reference to thecarburetors in the Operator’s Guideshould be disregarded.
Choke LeverThere is no choke lever. The enrich-ment of the air/fuel mixture is con-trolled by the electronic control unit(ECU). Any reference to the choke ca-ble in the Operator’s Guide should bedisregarded.
Fuel ValveWith the Rotax Fuel Injection, there isno need for a fuel valve.There is no reserve. When the fuel islow in the tank (1/8), the Info Centerdisplays a “LOW FUEL” warning mes-sage and the LED will blink. Every 55seconds, the monitoring beeper willalso sound 5 seconds to warn the op-erator.
Any reference to the fuel valve in theOperator’s Guide should be disregarded.
◆ WARNING
Engine must be OFF when usingboarding step. Keep away fromjet or intake grate. Stay on centerof the step. Only one person atthe time on the step. Never usethe step for pulling, towing, div-ing or jumping, boarding a PWCthat is out of water or any otherpurpose for which it was not de-signed.

FUEL AND LUBRICATIONRecommended FuelUse unleaded gasoline with a mini-mum of 87 octane (RON + MON/2)specification.NOTE: Look on service station pumpsticker for octane specification. Do notmix oil with fuel except at enginebreak-in. Always check injection oiltank level when refueling.The use of good quality fuel is neces-sary. A well known fuel brand is highlyrecommended.
Recommended OilUse BOMBARDIER ROTAX INJEC-TION OIL which is available from au-thorized dealers. It is a blend of spe-cially selected base oils and additiveswhich provides proper lubrication, en-gine cleanliness and minimum sparkplug fouling.NOTE: High quality low ash API TC in-jection oil for 2-cycle engines can beused if BOMBARDIER ROTAX INJEC-TION OIL is not available.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONSStarting the EngineBefore unloading the watercraft fromthe trailer, it can be started for about10 seconds to verify proper operation.
Attach the safety lanyard to the opera-tor’s PFD and snap the cap to theswitch before starting the engine.
Cold and Warm EngineFirmly grip handlebar with both handsand place both feet on the floorboard.To start engine, depress and hold thebutton. Release immediately after en-gine is started.
- CAUTION
Never experiment with other fu-els or fuel ratios. Never use fuelcontaining more than 10% alco-hol (ethanol or methanol). Theuse of non-recommended fuel canresult in watercraft performancedeterioration and damage to crit-ical parts in the fuel system andengine components.
- CAUTION
Never use 4-cycle petroleum orsynthetic motor oil and never mixthese with outboard motor oil.Do not use NMMA TC-W, TC-W2or TC-W3 outboard motor oils orother ashless type 2-cycle oil.Avoid mixing different brands ofAPI TC oil as resulting chemicalreaction may cause severe en-gine damage.
◆ WARNING
Do not touch electrical parts or jetpump area when engine is run-ning.
◆ WARNING
Only start the watercraft once allcontrols have been checked andoperate properly. Operator andpassenger (if applicable) shouldbe sitting on the watercraft seatprior to starting the engine.

NOTE: Do not depress the throttle le-ver to start either a cold or warm en-gine.Slowly accelerate to reach deeperwater. Do not apply full throttle untilthe engine is at normal operating tem-perature.
POST-OPERATION CARECooling System Flushing and Engine Internal LubricationFlushing the cooling system withfresh water is essential to neutralizecorroding effects of salt or other chemi-cal products present in water. It willhelp to clean up sand, salt, shells orother particles in water jackets (en-gine, exhaust manifold, tuned pipe)and/or hoses.Engine lubrication and flushing shouldbe performed when the watercraft isnot expected to be used further thesame day or when the watercraft isstored for any extended time.Proceed as follows:
Clean jet pump by spraying water in itsinlet and outlet and then BOMBAR-DIER LUBE lubricant.
To flush engine, connect a gardenhose to the water outlet located at therear of watercraft near the jet pump.NOTE: A quick connect adapter issupplied with the watercraft and canbe used to ease hose installation.

Start the engine then immediatelyopen the water tap.
Run the engine about 3 minutes at afast idle around 3500 RPM.
◆ WARNING
In shallow water, shells, sand,pebbles or other objects could bedrawn up by the jet pump anddamage impeller, components orclog the cooling system. Also, de-bris could be thrown rearwardinto bystanders.
◆ WARNING
Perform this operation in a wellventilated area.
◆ WARNING
Do not touch any electrical partsor jet pump area when engine isrunning.
- CAUTION
Never flush a hot engine. Alwaysstart the engine before openingthe water tap. Open water tap im-mediately after engine is startedto prevent overheating.

NOTE: Lubrication of engine shouldbe done for at least 1 minute. Closethe water tap then stop the engine.
Disconnect the garden hose.Wipe up any residual water from theengine.Remove spark plug cables and con-nect them on the grounding device.

Remove both spark plugs and sprayBOMBARDIER LUBE lubricant intoeach cylinder.NOTE: For the storage period, useBombardier storage oil (P/N 413 711600).Fully apply the throttle lever then de-press the start/stop button to crankthe engine a few turns to distributethe oil onto cylinder wall.NOTE: No fuel is injected in the en-gine when the throttle lever is fully ap-plied then the starter activated.Apply anti-seize lubricant on sparkplug threads then reinstall them.Reinstall plug on air intake silencercover.NOTE: Engine fogging should bedone whenever the watercraft is to bestored for a few days or a long period.
SPECIAL PROCEDURESSubmerged WatercraftIf the watercraft is submerged and en-gine is water-flooded, it is strongly rec-ommended that the watercraft be ser-viced by an authorized dealer imme-diately.In the event the engine cannot be ser-viced within a few hours, removespark plug cables and connect themon the grounding device.
- CAUTION
Always close the water tap be-fore stopping the engine.

Remove spark plugs and dry themwith a clean and dry cloth.Cover spark plug holes with a rag.Fully apply the throttle lever then de-press the start/stop button to crankengine for approximately 10 seconds.This will allow water to escape fromspark plug openings.Spray BOMBARDIER LUBE lubricantinto spark plug holes.Crank engine again with the throttlefully applied.Reinstall spark plugs.
Towing the Watercraft in WaterSpecial precautions should be takenwhen towing a Sea-Doo watercraft inwater.Maximum recommended towing speedis 24 km/h (15 MPH).When towing your watercraft in water,pinch the water supply hose from theimpeller housing to the engine with alarge hose pincher (P/N 529 030 400)shown in the following illustration.
This will prevent the cooling systemfrom filling which may lead to waterbeing injected into and filling the ex-haust system. Without the engine run-ning there isn’t any exhaust pressureto carry the water out of the exhaustoutlet.
Snugly install the hose pincher on thehose as shown.

- CAUTION
Failure to do this may result indamage to the engine. If youmust tow a stranded watercraft inwater and do not have a hosepincher be sure to stay well be-low the maximum towing speedof 24 km/h (15 MPH).
- CAUTION
When finished towing the water-craft, hose pincher must be re-moved before operating it.

Flooded EngineIf the engine does not start and it issuspected to be flooded, proceed asfollows:Remove spark plug cables and con-nect them on the grounding device.
Remove spark plugs and dry them us-ing a rag.Cover spark plug holes with a rag.Install the safety lanyard cap on theswitch.Depress and hold the throttle lever atfull throttle position.Depress the start/stop button to crankthe engine approximately 10 seconds.Proceeding in this order, no fuel is in-jected and the accumulated fuel in theengine will be expelled.Reinstall spark plugs and connect ca-bles.Start engine normally without applyingthe throttle.
MAINTENANCELubricationUse SEA-DOO synthetic grease andlubricate the PTO flywheel every 10hours. Proceed as follows:Remove seats to expose engine com-partment.Remove the wing nuts, washers andpull out PTO flywheel guard.

Using a grease gun, carefully lubricatePTO flywheel at grease fitting untilboot is just beginning to expand.

◆ WARNING
Always use spark plug cablegrounding device when remov-ing spark plugs.

Always remove safety lanyardcap from its receptacle to preventaccidental engine starting beforeremoving the PTO flywheelguard.

FusesThe electrical system is protectedwith 5 fuses.Three fuses are located on the Multi-Purpose Electronic Module (MPEM)and the other two fuses are in the rearelectrical box.Two fuses protect the charging sys-tem. If the battery is regularly dis-charged, check the 15 A fuse on theMPEM and the 20 A fuse in the rearelectrical box.A 5 A fuse protects the power supplyof the MPEM. If the starter does notoperate, check the 5 A fuse.The second 20 A fuse in the rear elec-trical box protects the power supply ofthe Electronic Control Unit (ECU).The 7.5 A fuse on the MPEM protectsthe fuel pump. If the engine does notstart, check this fuse.To access fuses on the Multi-PurposeElectronic Module, open storage com-partment cover and remove basket.Locate MPEM on the left side of wa-tercraft.Unclip the fuse cover from the MPEM.

Use the tabs of the fuse cover to re-move and reinstall fuses.

Unclip and pull out fuse holders tocheck fuse condition.If a fuse is defective, replace it by oneof the same rating.
NOTE: Ensure to properly close coverof the rear electrical box, making sureseal is well positioned.
STORAGEIt is recommended that the watercraftbe serviced by an authorized dealer forstorage but the following operationscan be performed by you with a mini-mum of tools.
Engine DrainingDisconnect the water supply hoseused to cool the magneto. It featuresa quick connect fitting. Press bothtabs and pull fitting in order to discon-nect hose.This hose is located at the bottom ofthe magneto cover beside the enginesupport.

Water should flow out of the fitting(magneto cooling circuit) and hose(crankcase heat exchanger).

Fuel SystemSEA-DOO fuel stabilizer (or equiva-lent), can be added in fuel tank to pre-vent fuel deterioration. Follow manu-facturer’s instructions for proper use.NOTE: Fuel stabilizer should be addedprior engine lubrication.
- CAUTION
Do not use a higher rated fuse asthis can cause severe damage.Refer to SPECIFICATIONS sectionfor recommended fuse rating. If afuse is regularly burnt, refer to anauthorized dealer.
◆ WARNING
If any water is found in the rearelectrical box, immediately referto an authorized dealer beforeoperating the watercraft.
- CAUTION
Do not run the engine during thestorage period.
- CAUTION
Water in engine must be free toflow out. Should water freeze inengine, severe damage will oc-cur.

Cooling System Flushing and Engine Internal LubricationRefer to procedure in POST-OPERATIONCARE.
Propulsion SystemLubricant in jet pump reservoir shouldbe drained and reservoir cleaned. Re-fill with SEA-DOO synthetic polyolest-er oil (75W90 GL5 type C gear lube).Refer to an authorized dealer for thisoperation.
Grease PTO flywheel as explained inthe MAINTENANCE section.
BatteryContact your authorized dealer or referto the appropriate Shop Manual forproper storage procedure.
Watercraft CleaningClean the bilge with hot water and de-tergent or with bilge cleaner. Rinsethoroughly. Lift front end of watercraftto completely drain bilge. If any repairsare needed to body or to the hull con-tact your dealer. For paint touch up tomechanical parts use Bombardierspray paint. For small gelcoat repairs,a Bombardier repair kit is available. Re-place damaged labels/decals.NOTE: Bilge cleaning should be doneprior to anticorrosion treatment.Wash the body with soap and watersolution (only use mild detergent).Rinse thoroughly with fresh water. Re-move marine organisms from the hull.Apply a good quality marine wax.
If the watercraft is to be stored out-side, cover it with an opaque tarpaulinto prevent sun rays and grime from af-fecting the plastic components, wa-tercraft finish as well as preventingdust accumulation.
Anticorrosion TreatmentWipe off any residual water in the en-gine compartment.Spray BOMBARDIER LUBE lubricantover metallic components in enginecompartment.Lubricate the throttle cable with BOM-BARDIER LUBE lubricant.The front seat should be partially leftopened during storage. This will avoidengine compartment condensationand possible corrosion.
Additional Recommended ProtectionIn cool regions (where freezing pointmay be encountered), cooling systemshould be filled with an equal part ofwater and antifreeze solution.
- CAUTION
Use only SEA-DOO jet pump oilor equivalent synthetic gear oil,otherwise component service lifecould be reduced. Do not mix oilbrands or types.
- CAUTION
Never clean apparent fiberglassand plastic parts with strong de-tergent, degreasing agent, paintthinner, acetone, etc.
- CAUTION
The watercraft must never be leftin water for storage. Never leavethe watercraft stored in directsunlight.
- CAUTION
During winter storage in cold cli-mates (where freezing may oc-cur), always add antifreeze andwater solution to cooling system.Mix in equal parts.

Temporarily install a short piece ofhose to engine water return at cylin-der head.Insert a funnel into hose and pour an-tifreeze mixed with water in engineuntil the colored solution appears inthe water return hose of the magnetocooling circuit.Remove temporary hose and recon-nect engine water return hose.Remove hose pinchers.Most of the antifreeze will drain outfrom fitting near the exhaust outletwhen removing the hose pinchers.Use a container to recover it. DIS-POSE OF ANTIFREEZE AS PER YOURLOCAL LAWS AND REGULATIONS.NOTE: Although antifreeze will mainlydrain out, the antifreeze has mixedwith the water that was possiblytrapped in the cylinder water jackets,crankcase heat exchanger and themagneto cooling circuit, preventingfreezing problems.At pre-season preparation, drain theremaining antifreeze from cooling sys-tem prior using the watercraft.
- CAUTION
Always use ethylene glycol anti-freeze containing corrosion in-hibitors specifically recommendedfor aluminum engines.

TROUBLESHOOTINGThe following chart is provided to help in diagnosing the probable source of sim-ple troubles. You may be able to solve many of these problems rather quickly, butothers may require the skills of a mechanical technician. In such cases, consultan authorized dealer for servicing.
Monitoring Beeper Coded Signals
Engine will not Start
CODED SIGNALS POSSIBLE CAUSE REMEDY2 short beeps (whileinstalling safety lanyard on switch).
• Confirms safety lanyard signal operation.
Engine can be started.
1 long beep (whileinstalling safety lanyard on craft switch or when pressing start/stop button).
• Safety lanyard on switch for more than 10 minutes without starting engine.
Remove and reinstall safety lanyard on switch.
• Bad connection. Reinstall safety lanyard cap correctly over switch.
• Wrong safety lanyard. Use a safety lanyard that has been programmed for the craft.
• Defective safety lanyard. Use another programmed safety lanyard.
• Salt water in safety lanyard cap.
Clean safety lanyard cap to remove salt water.
• Improper operation of MPEM or defective wiring harness.
Refer to an authorized dealer.
4 short beeps • Discharged battery.
• No communication between ECU and MPEM.
Refer to an authorized dealer.
Refer to an authorized dealer.
A 2 seconds beep every 60 seconds intervals.
• Fuel tank level is low. Refill.
