03Solutions : Strategy for NEDO’s Energy ConservationTechnology R&D Activities
In 2011, together with METI, NEDO summarized Japan’s direction and views on the R&D of future energy conservation as “Strategy for Energy Efficiency Technologies”.We identified 13 key technologies particularly for Japan to deal with among a wide range of energy conservation technologies. They are revised to 14 key technologies in 2014.Heat pump systems are positioned consistently as an important technology in the cross-sector.

04Solutions : Thermal Energy Storage
To increase the total energy efficiency of co-generation system, thermal energy storage is quite important. Toyota Motor had started a demonstration project using chemical storage container at Toyota city with some private company in METI project.NEDO has been supported some R&D for thermal energy storage not only material but also system.Recently, some Japanese manufacturers can provide very high performance absorption materials which are suitable for thermal energy storage. We have been supporting the R&D of thermal storage systems.

05Ideas for Japan-Spain Collaboration
1st To identify the difference and commonality of required conditions for thermal energy storage between Spain and Japan. This work shop is valuable opportunity for starting mutual understanding.2nd To consider the typical configuration and merit for thermal energy storage system (Feasibility Study).
