FootnotesPOUNCED was under a firm hold in the early going, settled in good position along the backstretch, continued well in hand while saving ground to the turn,angled out in upper stretch made a strong run to challenge inside the furlong marker and edged clear under steady urging. BRIDGETOWN sprinted clearalong the inside, set the pace along the rail to the top of the stretch, opened a clear advantage in midstretch, drifted a bit while battling into deep stretch andyielded grudgingly. INTERACTIF pressed the pace three wide to the top of the stretch, remained a factor into midstretch and weakened late. AWESOMEACT was rated in the middle of the pack on the backstretch, raced between horses while launching his move on the turn, swung six wide at the quarter poleand rallied belatedly in the middle of the track. BUZZWORD (GB) bobbled at the start, was unhurried for six furlongs, swung between rivals while five wideat the quarter pole and closed some ground with a mild late rally. DEAN'S KITTEN raced well back to the turn and improved his position with a mild laterally. GALLANT GENT was well placed between horses for a half, lodged a four wide move to threaten on the turn then flattened out. VISCOUNT NELSONtrailed after breaking very slowly, raced well back to the turn, angled out in upper stretch and failed to threaten with a late run between rivals. BECKY'SKITTEN pressed the early pace between horses, steadied in traffic on the far turn and gave way approaching the stretch. KING LEDLEY chased four widealong the backstretch, raced just off the pace from outside to the top of the stretch and faltered in the drive. ZIP QUIK failed to mount a serious rally whilesaving ground. CODOY was outrun to the top of the stretch and steadied while well back in upper stretch.

CANADIAN BALLET broke inward, had speedoutside the winner then stalked off the rail to the stretch, drifted out some in the final furlong and weakened. SILVER TIMBER was in a good positionstalking the pace inside, steadied slightly in a bit tight in upper stretch, continued along the rail and could not offer the necessary response. COST OFFREEDOM sprinted clear in the early stages, set the pace inside for a half, extended his lead a bit in midstretch, continued on the front while drifting out abit in deep stretch and yielded grudgingly. GAYEGO was outrun for a half after breaking slowly, rapidly closed the gap while saving ground at the quarterpole, got through along the fence while gaining in upper stretch and finished well along the inside but could not get up. ZENSATIONAL raced up close inhand through the opening quarter, steadied while boxed in on the rail midway on the turn, altered course between rivals at the top of the stretch and lackeda strong closing response. FATAL BULLET pressed the pace in the two path for a half, battled into midstretch then steadied in traffic while tiring in deepstretch. FLEETING SPIRIT (IRE) failed to mount a serious rally. CAPT. READY'S ECHO was outrun for six furlongs after breaking a bitslowly, launched a bid four wide leaving the turn, was bumped off stride at the top of the stretch, lugged in under left hand urging while gaining steadily inmidstretch and finished well while continuing to drifted inward through the final sixteenth. MIDSHIPMAN sprinted clear along the inside, set the pace alongthe rail to the turn, extended his lead a bit in midstretch, continued on the front into deep stretch and yielded while weakening in the late stages.MASTERCRAFTSMAN (IRE) raced in the middle of the pack while saving ground for six furlongs, closed along the rail on the turn, angled between horsesat the quarter pole then rallied belatedly along the inside after moving back to the fence in midstretch. MAMBO MEISTER raced in good position betweenhorses for five furlongs, swung out bumping with READY'S ECHO at the top of the stretch, moved into contention between rivals a furlong out then steadiedinside the runner-up while weakening in the late stages. A claim of foul lodged by the rider of MAMBO MEISTER against READY'S ECHO for interference inthe stretch was disallowed. NEKO BAY pressed the pace from outside along the backstretch, lodged a bid between horses at the quarter pole and flattenedout in midstretch. MR. SIDNEY stalked four wide to the top of the stretch and lacked a strong closing response. CHOCOLATE CANDY failed to mount aserious rally while four wide leaving the turn final turn. BULLSBAY saved ground while gaining a bit on the turn and lacked a late response. PYRO racedbetween horses for much of the way and lacked the needed response when called upon.

FootnotesZENYATTA was taken in hand after breaking slowly, raced well back under wraps for a half, launched a rally in the two path leaving the backstretch, rapidlypassed horses along the inside to reach contention on the turn, swung out for clear sailing entering the stretch, angled to the outside of TWICE OVER inupper stretch, closed the gap in midstretch, then gained steadily under strong right hand urging to wear down GIO PONTI in the final seventy yards. GIOPONTI was unhurried early, tucked in on the first turn, raced well back while saving ground for seven furlongs, launched a rally along the inside midway onthe turn, split rivals while gaining in upper stretch, charged to the front a furlong out, opened a clear advantage nearing the sixteenth pole, but couldn'twithstand the winners late charge while clearly best of the others. TWICE OVER (GB) was rated in the three path between horses along the backstretch,

move out on the turn, angled four wide entering the stretch and finished willingly to gain a share. SUMMER BIRD was well placed along the inside on thebackstretch, closed the gap on the turn, angled three wide while gaining at the quarter pole, lodged a bid between horses to threaten in upper stretch andfinished evenly in the final eighth. COLONEL JOHN raced in good position while saving ground just behind the pacesetter to the turn, angled out enteringthe stretch, gained a slim advantage in upper stretch and weakened under pressure in the final eighth. RICHARD'S KID was outrun for a half, worked hisway forward four wide to reach contention leaving the turn and flattened out in upper stretch. AWESOME GEM ducked out at the start, was reserved for sixfurlongs, gained three wide to briefly reach contention on the turn and lacked a late response. REGAL RANSOM set the pace along the inside to the top ofthe stretch and tired from his early efforts. MINE THAT BIRD was outrun after breaking slowly, saved ground inside the winner to the turn and failed tomount a serious rally. RIP VAN WINKLE (IRE) pressed the pace between horses for seven furlongs and stopped badly on the turn. EINSTEIN (BRZ) racedup close between horses then was shuffled back after steadying sharply behind RIP VAN WINKLE midway on the turn and was never close thereafter.GIROLAMO chased three wide early, raced within striking distance to the turn and gave way. QUALITY ROAD was fractious behind the gate delaying thestart five minutes and was scratched by the track veterinarian after sustaining a minor injury. All monies wagered on QUALITY ROAD were refunded andconsolations in all the pools were paid.

OIL MAN (IRE) a bit slow tobegin, saved ground off the pace to the stretch and was not a threat. GRETSKY settled outside then three deep, went between horses on the backstretch,was in a bit tight into the second turn, came three wide into the stretch and did not rally. AUGUSTUSTHESTRONG chased inside then a bit off the rail,angled back in on the second turn and weakened.
