“What can we (parents and campers) do

between now and Rock ‘n Ride?”

Physically PrepareJust like anything that is demanding on our bodies, it is best towork up the strength and stamina bit by bit rather than justthrowing our bodies into difficult and rigorous work. While Rock

‘nRide will be one of the most fun experiences of your lives, it

willdemand quite a bit from your bodies and at times push you towhat will seem like your physical limits. Begin now by training

yourbodies to endure the hard work we will be doing during the trip.Walk, run, dance, climb, bike, row… basically move as much as youcan between now and the start of the session. The more youprepare your body, the more effortless the trip will seem for

you.

“Where will R ‘n R be going this

year?”-The biking portion of the R ‘n R trip this year will most likely be some awesome trails in Crested Butte CO. We are still waiting to see if it will be optimal weather conditions in that area, and if not we will be going to Gunnison, CO.

-The climbing portion of the R ‘n R trip will be in Buena Vista CO

We are expecting every level of strength, mountain biking and rockclimbing experience and stamina on this year’s Rock ‘n Ride. We

will have a little bit of time at camp to get familiar with the bikesand feel comfortable before we leave on the trip. Most campers feel nervous before going on a trip no matter their background. Each R

‘n R camper will look out for each other and under the direction andsupervision of the very experienced Rock ‘n Ride staff, we willensure that every camper is able to grow and expand their limitsbut also succeed and have fun. Our goal is to give every R ‘n Rcamper an amazing Mountain Biking and Climbing experience… no

matter their prior knowledge or experience.

**Also feel free to contact Kolby, Gilad or either of the Rock ‘n Ride leaders with any specific concerns.**

“What if I’m nervous about the physical challenges on Rock ‘n Ride??”

We will make available on the Ranch Camp website a short list of required items that you need specific to the R ‘n Ride trip. If you have any questions about the types of equipment recommended or need some advice from us about where to buy equipment/what brands we prefer… don’t hesitate to ask us! We will be happy to help you as best as we can to get the right gear for the trip. We would encourage you to purchase and start using your gear as soon and as much as possible! The more familiar you get with your sleeping bag, and the more comfortable you feel in your padded shorts when you bike, etc…. The less trouble you will have with these things when we are on the actual trip.

“What should we bring to camp specific to Rock ‘n Ride?”
