Canadian Martyrs Council 11916 held their installation of Executive Officers last August 30 at Canadian Martyrs Church. Council Chaplain Fr. Paul Chu is flanked by Grand Knight Michael Wong and District Deputy Kevin Mendonça in the photo above. Council 6855 GK Lorenzo Ranada and Pope John Paul I Assembly Faithful Navigator Edgar Ursua filled in for those Officers who were unable to attend. (No, they have not defected!)

While she has quite a loyal following of dance aficionados in class, Lyce takes time to welcome beginners (like GK Lorenzo) and adjusts her lesson to accommodate them. She will do her best to walk from one end to the other to make sure they have her in sight through the quarter-turns and half-turns. Below left, Lyce pores through her collection of CDs, carefully indexed and itemized so she can quickly pick out the proper tune. Her teaching experience with elementary school students comes across in her encouragement and enthusiasm to teach even the most clueless beginners. At the end of class, no one is in a hurry to go as Lyce has many stories to tell and is a natural entertainer. She served many years as Social Director of Casa Macau Club, another group that has benefitted from the generous and talented service of this couple. Below right, Bro. Rick packs away the chairs, CD binders and player and off they go. See you next time!

Enjoy!
Nine years’ worth of newsletters are currently posted under Bulletins. Take a trip down memory lane and check out what our Council was like a decade ago. See how much has changed and how many things thankfully stay the same. Visit with the Grand Knights of long ago and let their words echo in our hearts again today, as they gamely took the helm and steered our Council to new shores with the steadfast support of the members all around.
On the more amusing side, you get to see our Ladies with a little more natural colour in their hair and our Knights with more hair!
Thank you to Bro. Scott Heathe for archiving this stash of newsletters all these years. If any of you have newsletters from 2005 and earlier to share, send them in so we can extend our historical memory even further.
And the same goes for photos, too! Let this be a veritable repository of 6855 glory days.

The fruit of silence is prayer, the fruit of prayer is faith, the fruit of faith is love, the fruit of love is service, the fruit of service is peace. — Blessed Teresa of Calcu a
