+Bauer Media
Bauer Media is a big part of the Bauer Media Group. Bauer Media
Group is a worldwide media empire that offers over 300 magazines in 15
different countries, they also have then in many different formants such as
online and as apps. It Joined the Bauer media group in 2008 and is home to
many well known brands such as, Closer, Mojo, Empire, Q and Kerrang!. Their first magazine was launched in 1953 called the Angling Times, they also brought out Motor Cycle News
which are still big brands within Bauer. Over the years they have taken over other brands such as Grazia and FHM which has lead to the media empire
they have today.
+Development Hell
There isn’t very much on the Development Hell website, but it does say that it is an independent publishing company that is
the publisher of the leading dance magazine that is called MixMag. Development Hell Limited is based on Pentonville road
in London UK, and has worked with some of the biggest publishing brands around the world. They are also the inventors of the biggest clubbing social networking site called Don’t Stay
In. The chairman of Development Hell is Peter strong, And is also run by the managing director jerry Perkins
+Future Publishing
Future Publishing was Founded in 1985 by Chris Anderson, they only started out having just one magazine, but
today they have over 200 more magazines than when they began. In
2000 it took over Metal Hammer a leading metal magazine in the music
industry from Dennis publishing. Future Publishing also make a load of
other leading Magazines in many different areas and genres such as
Music, Video games and also in Sport with big named brands such as
Classic Rock, Total Film, T3 and the Official PlayStation Magazine .Future Publishing is situated in the London Stock Exchange and sells over 2.2
Million magazines a month.
+BBC Magazines
BBC Magazines originally was part of the publishing division of the British
Broadcasting Corporation also known as the `BBC when it first came about in , but since then it has become part of the Intermediate media Company they joined them in November 2011, Intermediate media Co is a publishing company that works alongside other publishing companies to create their media, such as Origin Publishing and
Magicalia. It contains over 40 different magazine titles such as BBC food and for younger readers Top of The Pops. And even teen magazines
such as Girl talk.
+IPC Media
IPC Media is made up of over 60 iconic media brands such as Country life and NOW!, it’s music magazines consist of NME, Uncut and Mousebreaker all aimed at very different genres. It
is split into three different sections called IPC Connect, IPC Inspire and IPC Southbank these categorize their media into different areas making it easier to manage, IPC Media is also
part of the Time Warner Company. Since they have come around they have also taken over many other publishing
companies such as fleet way Publishing.

Why would an institution want to publish more than one magazine?
Institutions would want to publish more than one type of music magazine so that they can appeal to a wide target audience and cater for everyone's
taste in music.
What are the advantages for a company of offering their audience cross-media links?
Offering cross media links to their audience is a good thing because it means that people can read or look at the magazines on several different devices which maybe easier for them to get hold of than the actual printed version of the magazine they like which would increase the number of people who
will by the magazine benefiting the company
Why is the study of institutions useful?
Because it gives you a change to see how one company can cater for everyone's likes needs and tastes. This is benefit because we can apply
what we have learnt about catering to everyone and make our magazines liked and popular among lots of different Target Audiences.
