ProcedureIntroduction

1. Beginthislessonbydefiningtheword“generosity”together.

2. Explaintoyourstudentsthatinthissessiontheywillfocusonhowgenerosityisshowninrelationships betweenmentorsandmentees.

3. Discussthedefinitionofmentor(Merriam Webster: someone who gives advice, guidance, and help to a less experienced or younger person).Besuretoemphasizethatamentorvolunteersandgive generouslyoftime,talent,andenergy.

Direct Instruction (I do)1. Shareastoryinvolvingsomeonewhomentoredyouinyourlifetime.Besuretotouchonhow influentialyourmentorwasandthedifferentwaysyourmentorshowedgenerosity.

2. Shareadifferenttimewhenyoumentoredsomeoneelse.Touchonhowyoushowedgenerosityin thisrelationship.
