Post-Brexit: financial firms to move
Financial firms are in talks to discuss moving
their head offices from London to Amsterdam
following Britain's withdrawal from the
European Union.
It is unknown what the final affects of leaving
the EU on the UK's financial situation.
However, businesses must still brace
themselves. The outcome could be
overwhelmingly positive, but it is important to
ensure the relationships between UK and EU
businesses remain strong for the sake of trade
and commerce.

Trouble in Trump's financial nominees
OneWest is a bank which became notorious
for foreclosures, and the appointment of
Mnuchin and multibillionaire Wilbur Ross is a
far cry from the anti-establishment, anti-Wall
Street rhetoric Trump was so fervently
preaching on his campaign.
The Guardian have published a report on
Donald Trump's financial advisers. There is
controversy surrounding the potential
appointment of Steve Mnuchin as treasury
secretary.

Companies named and shamed for low
wagesThe British government has named and
shamed 360 businesses which have underpaid
their staff this year. These companies have
either shirked from paying employees the
National Minimum Wage or the Living Wage,
and have had to make amends with apologies
and payouts to employees who have missed
out.
You can read the BBC's full report on this
matter here.

Rise of the machinesWe were fascinated by this article published
on LinkedIn by Andrew Yang earlier this
month. Apparently, the rise of the machines is
already claiming jobs once performed by
humans.
With some jobs are already disappearing with
the emergence of new technologies, is your
job one of the ones at risk? Although we love
technology here at Axcess, we certainly hope
that machines don't take over. Machines may
be useful, but nothing can beat the human
brain in our opinion.
