Clinical audit is essential for quality improvement.

With the development of nursing roles and

nurse led services it is necessary for nurses

to have the skills required to monitor the

impact and quality of the care they

provide. This enables nurses to work with

and actively involve and engage patients,

carers and the public in clinical audit and quality

    improvement.

This one day case study based

    conference offers a step-by-step

    guide to delivering effective

clinical audit for nurses. It provides guidance on

    developing competence to carry

    out clinical audit, performing the

audit and changing practice as a

    result of the findings.

A series of case studies will be used to

demonstrate experiences of carrying outan audit to monitor the impact of

nurse led services, new and advanced

    roles and national initiatives.
