ZWCAD for Mac & Linux Preview5 Release Note

Its been almost seven months since the last time we released ZWCAD for Mac & Linux

Preview4 versions, here I am very glad to inform you that the Preview5 versions are finally

available today.

ZWCAD for Mac & Linux preview5 versions become much more stable and they provide

many more commands and features compared with previous versions. 165 commands are

newly added and now the new ZWCAD supports 343 commands in Mac version and 340

commands in Linux version.

3. Display CAD Entities & Objects

Most of the plain CAD entities can be displayed correctly in this version, the supported CAD entities are listed as below:

4. Create CAD Entities

There are 66 kinds of CAD entities, now ZWCAD can create 44 kinds of them, including the most frequently used CAD entities such as LINE, ARC, POLYLINE, SPLINE, TEXT, MTEXT, BOX, CONE and so on. For more details, please check appendix: A-1. Create CAD Entities.

5. Create CAD Objects

There are 16 kinks of CAD objects, and now ZWCAD can create 12 kinks of them, including the most frequently used CAD objects such as BLOCK, LAYER, UCS and so on. For more details, please check appendix: A-2. Create CAD Objects

6. Supported Commands

There are 343 commands in MAC version, and 340 commands in the Linux version. 165 commands are newly added compared with the previous version. If you want to know the detailed supported command list, please check appendix: A-3. Command list

Bug Fixed: Since the release of ZWCAD for Mac & Linux preview4 versions, there are more than 300 bugs have been fixed, some of which are listed as below:

1 NEW: The default template path is not right while creating new drawing.

2 ICON; The DWG file icon is much bigger than it should be.

3 OPEN: Can't open drawings which are created by AutoCAD educational edition.

4 TEXT: The text is moved automatically after editing.

5 IMAGE: Can't display image correctly.

6 XREF: Can't display XREF.

7 DIMENSION: Can't edit dimension value by double click.

8 REVCLOUD: The program will crash while running command REVCLOUD.

9 ATTDEF: The program will crash while running command ATTDEF.

10 REINIT: Command REINIT doesn't work.

11 EXTEND: Command EXTEND doesn't work as expect.

12 EXTURDE: Can't to extrude closed polyline.

13 INSERT: Can't insert block.

Known issues: Some of the important known issues are listed as below:

1 PROPERTIES; Can't display properties panel.

2 PLOT: The LINUX version does not support physical printer currently.

3 IMAGE\ROTATE\MIRROR: The result is wrong after rotating or mirroring the

images.

4 TEXT: The font of single line text is changed to TTF even it is specified as SHX at

the beginning.

5 TRACE: The deployment is wrong after selecting the trace.

6 PLOT: Can't remember "last time" setting.

7 PLOT/IMAGE: Can't plot image.

8 PLOT/PAGESETUP: Paper Size setting is invalid.

9 COMMANDLINE: Do not support command dynamic input prompt.

10 MVIEW\-VPORTS: The view port can still zoom in and out even it is being

locked.

11 PLAN\UCS: Can't switch to saved UCS.

12 PLOT/PAGESETUP: Paper Size setting is invalid.
