Our Story After spending over 30 years in the world of corporate restaurants, Glen Zalenski and family decided to follow his lifelong dream of opening their own restaurant. Early in 2003, we opened a small 35-seat restaurant known as “The Green Mill” in downtown Steubenville. When you walk in the doors at the restaurant, you could find at least one of the Zalenski’s working; Glen would run things while waiting on customers; son, Matt could be found in the kitchen; son, Eric waited on tables and washed dishes; and wife, Kathy would run the cash register and wait tables whenever needed. In 2010, our family grew when Jennifer agreed to join Matthew in Holy Matrimony. She now helps out in a management position. After several years, the opportunity arose for the Zalenski family to move their restaurant to the west end of Wintersville, opening the doors on February 2, 2005. We were able to open a much larger operation consisting of 15,000-sq. ft. facility, consisting of a restaurant, pub and 170-seat catering facility. You can still find family members working at Zalenski Family Eatery & Pub. We also pride ourselves with treating our staff and customers like one of the family. We want everyone to feel special when they walk through the doors. We are not talking about food, not just yet; we’re talking about a dining experience. Our fine staff works to exceed all your expectations, making service at Zalenski’s first priority. Not only do we pride ourselves on service, but add top quality food for a winning combination. We are serious about using the freshest local ingredients, like fruits, vegetables, herbs and meats. Even our coffee is our own blend and roasted fresh to order in Ohio. Keeping with the local theme, we serve exclusively Ohio wines. Our mission statement is to be the Ohio Valley’s premier restaurant. We are a family restaurant run by family.
