WHAT IS YOKE?

YOKE is a refreshing new print magazine, unique in an exciting and challenging era. Interested in the power and manifestation of creativity, YOKE is a magazine that brings together yogic and creative thinking to inspire consciousness and change.

It’s an explosive mix of many delicious things, wrapped up in beautifully-designed printed issues, packed with insightful and unexpected blends of imagery and interviews with people, artists and yogis. It’s a tantalising playground and a connection between both art and yoga.

At the root of this magazine are two things: a celebration of humanity and an exploration into creativity and process; how we shape nature and how it shapes us. A reminder that without consciousness and a daily practice of observation and looking at the world we risk becoming more and more isolated.

Each issue will contain stories, interviews, photo essays, reflections and conversations with content related to people & spaces, the arts and photography, ancient philosophies, food & wellbeing, along with adventurous travel destinations with a purpose.

WHY YOKE?

YOKE appreciates that we are living through an exciting – and at times challenging – age. Technology is connecting humans around the planet, allowing us to be and do more than ever before. However, one could argue that this digital age has made us more superficial than ever before, lacking human interaction.

At the same time, this planet and its growing population are in serious need of love and nurturing.

YOKE magazine offers readers a blend of art, culture and the ancient philosophy of yoga, and ultimately seeks to explore ways we can stay grounded and true to our planet, our loved ones and ourselves. Believing that Art is one of the most profound mirrors of the human psyche, both individually and collectively, and that yoga is as much off the mat than on.

As a growing number of people, including creatives, are turning to yogic philosophies as a life-long way to feel grounded and connected to themselves and their artistic process, we think this is an exciting time to merge yogic and creative life in one charming publication.

WHO IS YOKE FOR?

YOKE appeals to a young and young-at-heart audience, creatives, artists, yogis and food and travel enthusiasts, seeking out inspiration and adventure for a more balanced, fulfilling and creative lifestyle, to empower themselves and at the same time, their community.

YOKE is about giving you something to think about, evoking feelings in you and allowing you to redefine who you are and where you want to be, through insights, examinations and intelligent reading. It’s for those with a desire for knowledge and a thirst for real-life content.

It’s for those who want to know what other people are doing and how they are doing it. How mindfulness plays a role in creativity. How artists and yogis are loving and living at different times of their lives, through success and failures, milestones and mindfulness.

YOKE is about sharing the many benefits of consciousness and creativity alike, and filling a void in the newsstand.

Is it even something that really exists?
