Performer Information U.S. Navy Blue Angels - The mission of the United States Navy Flight Demonstration Squadron is to showcase the pride and professionalism of the United States Navy and Marine Corps by inspiring a culture of excellence and service to country through flight demonstrations and community outreach. The Blue Angels flight demonstration exhibits choreographed refinements of skills possessed by all naval aviators. From the start of their demonstration, fans will see the graceful aerobatic maneuvers of the four-jet Diamond Formation, in concert with the fast-paced, high-performance maneuvers of two solo pilots. During the finale, the team illustrates the pinnacle of precision flying, performing maneuvers locked as a unit in the renowned six-jet Delta Formation. F-16 Demonstration and Heritage Flight Team - The Air Combat Command F-16 Viper Demonstration Team from Shaw AFB, S.C., performs precision aerial maneuvers to demonstrate the unique capabilities by one of the Air Force's premier multi-role fighters, the F-16 Fighting Falcon. The team also works with the Air Force Heritage flight, exhibiting the professional qualities the Air Force develops in the people who fly, maintain and support these aircraft USSOCOM Para-Commandos - The Para-Commandos perform precision free-fall parachute demonstrations from an altitude of 12,500 feet. The jumpers free fall for approximately 2 miles and reach speeds in excess of 120 miles per hour utilizing smoke canisters to make the skydivers visible to the public below. The Para-Commandos are active duty military or Department of Defense civilians assigned to the Special Operations Command in Tampa, FL. Their airshow performances are dedicated to honoring the work being performed by the Special Operations Command’s soldiers, sailors, marines, and airmen deployed to more than 100 countries around the world. GEICO Skytypers Air Show Team - Sponsored by GEICO (Government Employees Insurance Company), the Skytypers perform an 18-minute, low-level, precision formation flying demonstration highlighting the unique capabilities of their WWII-era aircraft. In addition, the team will skytype their signature 1,000 foot tall messages along the coastline of Myrtle Beach prior to their air show performances. Rob Holland Ultimate Air Shows - Flying the MXS-RH by MX Aircraft, Rob thrills spectators with a dynamic and breathtaking display of precision aerobatics. His accomplishments include four consecutive U.S. National Aerobatic Championships, three World Freestyle Championships, and six U.S. Freestyle Championships. In 2012, the International Council of Airshows (ICAS) honored Rob with the prestigious Art Scholl Award for Showmanship, the highest honor for an air show pilot. Patty Wagstaff Airshows – Patty dreamed of flying early in life. She grew up surrounded by airplanes and at nine moved to Japan where her father was a pilot for Japan Air Lines; she took the controls of his DC-6 at age 10, and her future was set. She earned a pilot's certificate and went on to become a six-time member of the U.S. Aerobatic Team -- winning gold, silver, and bronze medals in Olympic-level competition. She was the first woman U.S. National Aerobatic champion. In 1994, her Extra 260 aircraft was enshrined in the National Air & Space Museum in Washington, D.C. Michael Wiskus Lucas Oil Airshows - The 2002 U.S. National Aerobatic Champion joins the lineup for the inaugural Wings Over Myrtle Beach Air Show in 2018, flying his signature Pitts S-1-11b stunt bi-plane with a 300 hp Barret IO-540 engine. Mike’s high-energy aerobatics routine reaches a power speed of 195 mph, spinning and tumbling through a series of classic maneuvers. Almost 40 years after earning his pilot’s license, Wiskus has accumulated more than 24,000 flight hours as a corporate pilot and in performances at airshows from March to November each year.

Bob Freeman Suzuki EXTRA 330SC – Bob Freeman became an ICAS member in 2010. After working his last professional position in South Korea, Bob returned to the U.S. to retire in order to focus on aerobatic flying. Bob brings more than 30 years of competition experience to his airshow performances. He performs his aerial demonstration in a converted Suzuki Extra 330SC powered by a 320hp Lycoming IO580 engine. Bill Braack Smoke-n-Thunder Jet Shows- Retired airman and flight engineer Bill Braack worked on C-130s and C-141s in the Air Force Reserve. He now brings his jet-engine know-how to air shows across the U.S. The jet car utilizes a Westinghouse J34 jet engine that was originally used in the North American T-2A Buckeye aircraft. The jet turbine produces 7,500 pounds of thrust, to create more than10,000 hp. Bill’s jet car accelerates to 400 mph in nine seconds. A drag parachute is utilized to bring the vehicle to a halt. Jim Tobul F4U Corsair Demonstration - The F4U Corsair was the most capable carrier-based bomber-fighter of World War II. The one Jim Tobul will demonstrate during the Wings Over Myrtle Beach Air Show was rescued from a lime orchard in Homestead, FL. After a 10-year rebuild, the “Korean War Hero” now carries out a very different mission: thrilling airshow crowds with rolls, loops, and dives. Tobul’s Chance Vought F4U Corsair was built in 1945 and served on 200 combat missions with two tours on aircraft carriers. The last 10 years of military service for this plane were from 1960 to 1970 in the Honduran Air Force. Scott Yoak P-51 D Mustang Demonstration - The father-and-son team, Bill and Scott “Scooter” Yoak of West Virginia, spent 13 years meticulously working to build their Quicksilver P-51D Mustang from parts of planes utilized during bombing raids over Germany and missions in North Africa, Italy, and in the Pacific. This airshow crowd pleaser and fan favorite is nicknamed the “Resurrected Veteran.” The plane’s paint scheme features elements to honor those who have served in the US military. Class of ’45 Demonstration Team - The F4U Corsair and P-51D Mustang were both built hear the end of WWII in 1945. During the demonstration by the Class of “45 Team, the aircraft originally flown by pilots in the U.S. Navy and U.S. Air Force fly in close formation and demonstrate maneuvers as a tribute to preserve and honor the service of American military men and women, both then and now.Army Aviation Heritage Foundation Sky Soldiers Cobra Demonstration Team - The Sky Soldiers Precision Flight Demonstration Team performs in the US Army’s legacy AH-1F Cobra Attack helicopter. The Sky Soldiers are an elite group of decorated, veteran military personnel who have served their country in Vietnam, Grenada, Panama, Desert Storm, and Operation Iraqi Freedom. The team pilots have collectively accumulated more than 85,000 flight hours in military aircraft, 7,000 combat flight hours, 10 Distinguished Flying Crosses, 9 Bronze Stars, and 168 Air Medals. Their AH-1F Cobras demonstrate the dynamic maneuverability and capability of the attack helicopter and the skills of the military aviator. OV-1 Mohawk Air Shows – The Grumman OV-1 Mohawk is a twin-engine turboprop armed military observation and attack aircraft designed for battlefield surveillance and light strike capabilities. The OV-1 can land on short and rough runways which made it a tremendous resource for the U.S. Army forces during the Vietnam War and Operation Desert Storm and ultimately retired the aircraft in the United State in 1996.
