the birth of a human being is one of

the most magical elements of our ex-

istence, which we only fully appreciate

when it enters in our own lives.

WoMb is one of the reproductive

organs that allows the miracle of life.

During pregnancy it expands so that

the fetus grows in its interior, ending

this process with the parents with the

child on their arms.

this brand has in its Dna the creation

process using only the best materials

and practices, all with the know-how

that results from the joint venture of

two companies with decades of expe-

rience, which one with its own facil-

ity. this allows the total control of the

creation process from the embryo to

the final result.

WoMb is the result of a two company

merger. a furniture company and up-

holstery, both with its own production

unit, whose partners wanted to create

a brand that combines, design, brand-

ing with highest standards of quality in

all phases of the process.

this joint venture allows the clash

between second and third generation

craftsman’s, with young designers and

marketers. this results in a daily chal-

lenge and learning for both genera-

tions, and in many ways is an impor-

tant life experience.

the most prominent Portuguese de-

signers, as well as, established ones,

are invited to work with WoMb´s

team, allowing the creation of a di-

verse family.

WoMb intends to create pieces with

a bold design and to set trends where

the only limit is the viability of the high

standards of quality.

the pieces intend to generate new ex-

periences to the users, as well as the

ability to travel without moving.

young talented Portuguese designer,

Pedro had is academic training in in-

dustrial Design at the Porto fine arts

university. he has been focused in

concept, interior, thinking industrial

and product design. truly, his forma-

tion started at the age of four when his

dad, an arts enthusiast, showed him on

a daily bases a wide range of express-

ing artistically. since then, he has been

expressing itself in several forms such

as: drawing, painting and visual krafts.

in the last couple of years his work has

been presented in the most important

exhibits in the world. For the first time

he took a leading role and we know

that “the beginning of everything” will

be a major step forward in his career.

the beginning of everything is signed by the Por-

tuguese Designer Pedro teixeira. it was inspired in

some of the most amazing natural phenomena, where

some find explanation in science and others are linked

with traditions and local myths. they all have in com-

mon the ability to mesmerize us!

this journey takes us to some of the most beautiful

and unique places on earth. it has purpose to allow us

to travel... without moving.

T H E B E G I N N I N G O F E V E R Y T H I N G“i was truly inspired by the forms, colors, textures of

this wonderful places and it is reflected on the design,

materials I have chosen and the finishing of the pieces.

it has also been a force to deal with conceptually, due

to the huge impact that it had on me.

Looking back it was an important personal journey.”

sideboard inspired in farafra Depression in egypt, an

area known better for being inhabited by bedouins

and its cream colored rocks. Despite this fact the de-

sign was based on the texture of the rocks and the top

of the sideboard was the result of this influence.

this piece his made using only the best materials

available, whittle several days by our artisans and the

interior, top and base covered with gold leaf.

the roots are hugging the earth and

then they became one. in serengeti

national Park the acacia seronera

trees are one of the iconic images. this

piece was based in those trees but it is

also a tribute to africa.

it intends also to challenge the senses

and grant an experience through the

delights of the african continent.

the kaieteur waterfalls are huge in every metric that

we choose to use, although it was its curves that had

an influence on how Pedro designed this dinning chair.

the silhouette of the waterfall was the base for the

silhouette of the piece. also the curling of the water

was the starting point for the seams on the leather.

Deep in the heart of africa, nature offers another

wonder, the glencoe baobab trees.

the multi rim structure that compose the base of the

Glencoe drink bar had an important influence in the

glencoe baobab african trees. this trees are known

for their huge measures and for being some of the

oldest in the world.

in oregon usa, the waves are swollen by the amaz-

ing thor´s Well a natural hole form probably by thou-

sands of years of sea erosion. Depending on the tide

sea currents we may see an amazing phenomena,

where the sea enters the hole and it´s almost imme-

diately expelled.

the visual effect is similar to the one that we can im-

agine by watching the structure of this piece.

Dracaena cinnabari also known as socotra Dragon

tree, is native to the socotra archipelago in the in-

dian ocean. the structure of the branches generat-

ed almost immediately inspiration for the designer,

specifically on how to create the crown in the back

of this armchair.

the strong curves on the upholstery came later when

he started to research more about this unique trees

and their location.

ia, ayers rock or the rock. it´s the sec-

ond monolith in the world with more

than 300 meters of height and about

8km of area.

the colors changes in a remarkable

way throughout the day due to the

effects of the light on the surface of

the monolith. rust of oxidation is one

of the most powerful colors, and this

sideboard use them. also, the shapes

of uluru have had a clear inspiration in

this mountain.

formed from the wear of water rush-

ing through rock, antelope canyon is

widely known for its unique colours

and shapes. these shapes and colours

have a clear reflection in this armchair,

the lines have similar curves and the

fabric was chosen accordingly to the

ones founded in antelope.

there are more than a thousand of these geological

formations in an area of 50 square kilometers.

Depending on the season the colors of the grass

that covers these formations changes from green to

brown and the fabrics where chosen accordingly to

this variation. also, the forms of this piece have also

been influenced by Burol hills.

in east java indonesia, the kawah ijen volcano is re-

sponsible for a unique phenomenon of nature, the

colors of the lava at night turns into an electric navy

blue. The scenario is similar to a science fiction movie,

along with the lava comes a nebula that seems to be

from another planet. it´s the result of sulphur that

pours out of the volcano.

in this piece both the colors and the way the lava fol-

lows down the hill inspired the design and the finishing.

the forest of the enchanted tales? if it exists it is in

Poland! Where the pine trees, without a clear expla-

nation, grow with a unique and almost mystical shape

that inspired the design of this cabinet. there have

been a lot of speculation on how and why this phe-

nomena happens, and that´s a part of the magic.

the exterior brass structure of the cabinet was based

in the irregular shape of the pin trees.

Our

team

We all came from very different back-

grounds and share in common the fact

that in kids (except Pedro), we never

thought that we end up here. today

we share the fact that we are very pas-

sionate about what we do.

WoMb, has already a special place in

our hearts now that it is ready to be

presented. We firmly believe that this

is a new approach, all done with a lot

of care.

the beginning of everything sets a

milestone because has we launch the

collection, we also launch the brand.

although, this journey started a long

time ago and it is the result of more

than year of work, with professionals

with decades of experience that fortu-

nately work in both our factories.
