Meet Eva, Victoria, and Olivia—three witches with smarts,attitude, and, of course, bitchin’ magick-casting abilities!

Ever since I watched the cult classic film The Craft in 1996—twenty years ago, in fact—I’ve been fascinated with the ideaof sorceresses and witchcraft lore. And so I’m thrilled tohave the opportunity to edit WITCHES TRINE!

WITCHES TRINE is a fresh take on a familiar genre that

combines a supernatural vibe with modern kick-ass action.It revolves around three complex female protagonistswhose narrative spans generations. We’ll experience thesewitches dealing with life in 19th century England whiletackling a new set of perils in modern day L.A. Their growthover the course of the story goes from being selfish to selflessas they realize the importance of saving others and theirplace in the universe.

Monika, my wife, is deeply immersed in the world of holis-tic healing and nutrition. One day, she told me about anherbalist shop she visited in the Perth Hills and gave a

captivating description of what she had seen:

The shop was small and part of the owner’s house, located ona large property surrounded by woodlands. The house hadan incredible amount of exotic herbs, teas, and all kinds ofplant products. Most of which the owner produced himself.

I formed a mental image of this fascinating place andcouldn’t help but wonder:

Who is this person growing these exotic plants with suchdedication? And who might his customers be?

Maybe they are witches…

I had initially intended WITCHES TRINE to be a featurefilm—but when I finished the screenplay, I felt that it wouldmake one hell of a graphic novel! The only problem was,though I had always been a comic book fan, I had nevermade one before. So to get some help, I did what you do in

this Internet age: I Googled “freelance comic book editors.”

That is how I found Valerie D’Orazio, long-time editor anda creator of indie comics herself. She saw the potential inthe project and agreed to guide me to something worthprinting. She helped me turn the screenplay into a comicscript, and we set out to put together a team of artists torealize the vision.

We secured the services of the amazing John Howard to

pencil and ink the book; Teo Gonzalez, whose gloriouscolors raise the artwork to another level; and Bram Meehanto provide the smooth lettering that seamlessly blends withthe visuals.

The cover and pinups were provided by Joshua Chinsky,and are sure to be future collectibles. Ditto for the variantcover, used for this preview, by the talented Dennis Calero.

Frankly, I could never have dreamed of better collaborators.

I’m amazed at the quality of the end product—and now thatwe are ready to show you what we have been working on, Ihope that you will enjoy reading our book as much as weloved making it for you.
