The origins of the Bacchini family are lost in the mists oftime in that of Florence. In the 13th and 14th centuries theBacchini family in Florence had a significant role on thehistory of the city. At first the prime rights at the Consulateand then having the role on different occasions for theSignoria (most powerful council) as Priors.

The Bacchini family of Tonsino and his son Giovanni ofFlorentine origin became farmers and at the end of 1300took up stable dwelling in Romagna where they startedcultivating their lands. Since then for about 700 yearsthe Bacchini family have from generating to generationcultivated their land and their vineyards.

At the end of 1800 Francesco Bacchini, Bishop of Ternibecame Bishop “in partibus infidelium” of the great dioceseof Tripoli of Lebanon and chose as his home country estatethe Tenuta that stands today.

The Tenuta took on a more technical aspect in the middleof the 1900 when Francesco Bacchini modernised thecompany and expanded the vineyards and winery using allthe technology available at that time. The transformation was completed by his son Leo who ina scientific way expanded the vineyards with the introductionof new varieties and resurrecting the more interestingvarieties from the past.

In the winery Sandro, son of Francesco perfected thetechnology whilst respecting tradition. He knew that winesof the past must not have any defects, but this was notsufficient and wines must have essentially all it's meritsincorporated thus the technique of producing wine mustbecome a true science.

Francesco, son of Sandro during his brief life left an indeliblemark of his passage designing a robot for dry pruning ofthe vine therefore introducing the concept of robotics intowine making.

The wine we drink and food we eat becomes essentially asource of dreams and enjoyment. Now Nicoletta, daughterof Sandro, receives, witnesses and carries on the traditionof the family. On Christmas Day 2010 Nicolò was born.He is the latest descendant of the Bacchini family and willbe or as one hopes, the twentieth generation of winemakers.Indeed we are sure because good blood doesn't lie and goodwine makes good blood.

Greek Italic amphorae, II and III sec. BC, used for the transportation of wine by seacoming from "Fundus Marinianus ".

“Fundus " is now located on the estate of Monsignore.

The characteristics of the earth, the hillside, its positionand micro climate, together with centuries of experienceguarantees vines of only the best quality.

Quality of the highest level because we have chosen to limitthe amount of grapes on each vine and give the vines freedomof movement without attaching the shoots to cord railings. This allows easy penetration of the sun and air through thevegetation favouring the maturing of the grapes.

Wine has always been considered as a beverage and fine

nourishment that satisfies our material needs.

With the evolution of time, this concept has been exceeded

and it has become an essential asset that meets our

“immaterial” needs, that is to say it affects the spiritual

realms through the emotions it causes.

Emotions are organoleptic (visual-olfactory-taste)

when combining food.

In recent years, our attention has turned to the combination

of our wines with feelings, so we have found relationships

between a particular wine and a special feeling.

For this we recommend a specific wine for every moodwith the certainty of provoking emotions for theenjoyment of the spirit and the soul.
