Opportunities and challenges

Need to address the diverse needs of users to access

information anytime/anywhere

Providing integrated resources which avoid duplication

and streamline user experience

Addressing needs of users from different cultures and

settings including developing countries

Addressing the next generation of users…..

Ugandai am writing as a student ambassador of Wikivet and on behalf of

the student leadership at the college of veterinary medicine,

animal resources and biosecurity at Makerere University,

Kampala, Uganda.

we are grateful for the contribution that wikivet has so far made

in availing online veterinary information to students at all levels,

Veterinary doctors and the community at large. we were lucky to

have participated in the dentistry quiz and managed to have

one of our fellow student( SSEBUNYA YVETTE) as among the top

three.…..

…….its at this point, that i write to request the wikivet team to

organise with us, an orientation and training session for staff

and students at college on how to use wikivet. We are ready

to plan with your team on how this can be achieved. surely,

this will revolutionize veterinary training and service in Uganda.

Take Home Messages

Open Educational Resources DO have a value in the

future of veterinary learning

Need to develop more sustainable business models for

online courses delivery

Collaboration is challenging but essential

eLearning offers one of the most rapid and value added

potential to transform education
