What have you learnt about technologies from process of constructing this product?

Photoshop is a program I’m familiar with because I have been working with it for over 5 years on my spare time because I have always been interesting in photography.Making this magazine has only been the basic for me when it comes to Photoshop, I knew how to do pretty much everything which made it fast and easy for me to build up this magazine. But something I wasn’t used to was to work with so much text and I learned how you can put different shadows and frames around the text by using the ‘Layer Style tool’ you can find if you double click on the text layer.

PowerPoint has been really helpful for me during the whole process, because it’s fast and easy if you want to put images together for a post or write some short explanations for different task. Another thing which is good is that you can put your work on SlideShare so you can use it as a normal PowerPoint instead of saving all the slides as images.It’s not really hard to work with and really quick and easy so you can save time for other work. I have used PowerPoint before so I know how it works, at least the basic, because I prefer to keep it clean and simple. I used it to make my LIIAR analysis, my mood boards and my evaluation.

I have been using SlideShare one time before I used it on my media studies so I knew how it worked. I didn’t use it a lot for my media either but it has been good to use for my PowerPoint’s I’ve been making for my evaluation.

I used Survey Monkey to make a questionnaire about music and pop magazines, which I later shared on FaceBook for my friends to answer. Through the survey I got to things like what my audience think my magazine should be called, what make them pay attention to a magazine and which pop artists they prefer.The answers a got helped me a lot because I got to know how I should build up my magazine according to what my audience likes. This make it much easier to know how to make your magazine appeal to the audience, which is really important because you make the magazine for the audience and they are the ones you want to get attention from to be able to sell your product.

I had never used it before so I wasn’t sure how to handle it at the beginning but it didn’t take long to understand how to use it, all I did was to test different things and look through all the alternatives you got and then chose what’s best for your survey.

MY QUESTIONS

Instead of using a bad mobile phone camera to take my images I used my own Nikon D3100 to take pretty much all of the images I used in my magazine. Because I wanted to make my magazine look as realistic and professional as I could. After looking at my survey I did on Survey Monkey, one of the big things that the audience say they pay most attention to on a magazine is the images, so that’s why I thought It was important with good quality images.

Pen drive

I used a 16 GB SanDisk pen drive to save my work on so I easily could bring my work between college and home. I do also have PhotoShop, PowerPoint and Word on my own Mac computer at home so I did some work at home but also brought my computer to college because I prefer to use my own PhotoShop.
