2. I learnt from the process of constructing this product that cameras have a lot more to them than just lenses and the well-known zoom function. When shooting we encountered a problem with the lighting which we then fixed when we found out we could turn down the contrast on camera whilst filming. This effect we used at significant points the vampire was following the victim without her knowing and darkened the shot quickly as it progressed. This also saved much time in the Editing suite as if we hadnt found out we could change the contrast on the camera we would have had to do it in editing. Click the video to below: to see the shots we did on the camera using the contrast effect C a me r a f u n c t i o n i n g 3. We also by accident, found that one of the buttons on the camera can filter shots, making them appear more blue as if in some type of ultra- violet lighting. I was not aware of this before hand and was going to attempt to filter the shots in the editing suite which if I had may not have come out as good. This really helped our opening sequence come along as we ended up using the shots we then took of the corridors with this blue lighting in; the beginning of our opening sequence, the middle and at the end. As during construction I felt we had all the visual aspects covered but that we maybe needed to record sound to add to the realistic feeling of some of our clips .I then found sound effects which suited some of our shots via YouTube and once added to our footage in the editing suite me and my team felt some of the shots felt more realistic and enhanced . I learnt it is possible to change the contrast on the computer if you have a shot you forgot to darken on the camera whilst filming . I also learnt that in editing when using programs on the computer such as Final Cut Pro it is possible to replace shots whenever or move footage around if your initial planned order of shots doesnt demonstrate continuity well . Along side the fact in editing you can use bits of shots to intrude another, which is called cross-cutting (going back and forth with shots which we did when our vampires attempting to bite the victims neck and shes about to drop the pen .) Allowing us to instantly upload ideas we had for our product, theories, video blogs and everything and anything which contributed to our finished product or that we felt influenced my perception of what our film should be like. Blogger was where we stored all our planning and research, keeping it organised, and was very useful to me and my team as we could upload all types of media on there. B l o g g e r .c o m 7. Y o u T u b e YouTube is an online website which contributed to our product as it contributed to our Horror opening sequence throughout the process. It allowed us to use videos from the site and upload them on the blog which I didnt know was possible before this course. . It allowed me to find sound effects from videos on there which I would then convert into mp3 files ready to be added to our footage to enhance it and it allowed me to research other horror films./interviews/sequences visually .
