Announcing a new Holy Spirit Ministry!

Filiae Lumena — Daughters of Light

Join us Thursday, September 9th in room 4 at 6:30 PM. You are cordially invited to join our newly created women’s ministry. We are a loving group of Catholic Faith-filled women who embrace our God-given Gift of Femininity. We welcome all women, 18 years and older who have a true desire

to lead a more spiritual and prayerful lifestyle. We believe that through prayer petitions, fasting, education and sisterly support, we can change the world for the Glory of God. Wherever you may be in your own personal journey of faith, we welcome you to join.

Our ministry’s mantra: “Rejoice always. Pray without ceasing. In all circumstances give thanks, for this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus (Thessalonians 5:16-18).

We will meet in person and over Zoom. We recite the Holy Rosary and then host a bible study or book walk. If you are interested in joining our group, please contact Filiae Lumena’s Ministry Team at (559) 392-1524 or email: [email protected].

Our Catholic Faith Are you or someone you know interested in further exploring your faith? Do you have questions about why, we as Catholics, do what we do and believe what we believe? Are you looking to grow in the basic knowledge of the true beauty of Catholicism? Then, come and be part of the “Our Catholic Faith” Zoom sessions.

During these sessions participants ask questions, explore Catholic teachings and discover what it means to be a Catholic Christian. They are designed to offer accurate information and clarify any misconceptions about the Catholic Church. This class is open to both Catholic and non-Catholics.

Our Zoom sessions meet on the 2nd & 4th Monday of each month from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

To join the group, text OCF to 84576. The next session is September 13th.

Safe Environment Updates and Information Who?

Any volunteers over the age of 18, who come into contact with minors or vulnerable adults must complete the Diocesan Mandated Safe Environment training and be fingerprint cleared through the Diocese of Fresno. This online training course is detailed, informative and offers valuable advice on how ensure that Holy Spirit remains a safe and sacred place for all.

Statistics

At Holy Spirit we are proud to have over 287 volunteers who have completed the online certification which includes fingerprint clearance and 48 catechists who have completed an additional “Train the Trainer” certification allowing them to teach the required annual Safe Environment curriculum to students from K through 12th grade who participate in our Religious Education, Confirmation, Youth Group and Edge programs at Holy Spirit. We are proud to report that 100% of all students enrolled in our programs participate in these sessions. In addition to that all parents have access to the materials taught.

Renewal Year

If you have already completed the training, your certification is valid until 2023. All current and new certifications will have to be renewed in 2023.

Parents Meetings

Each year a parent meeting is scheduled.

What did we do about Safe Environment in 2020

The Safe Environment lessons were taught via Zoom and those unable to participate in the Zoom sessions completed an independent study packet with parents which was moderated by our DRE.

Ministries who must obtain the certification:-

Catechists, Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion, St. Stephen’s Ministers, Liturgical Assis-tants, Altar Server Ministries, All Clergy, All members of Staff, and Youth Choir leaders. Any other ministry at Holy Spirit should have signed the Diocesan Code of Conduct and submitted it to your ministry leader or the Safe Environment Manager at Holy Spirit.

We thank you all for your commitment to our Safe Environment Program.
