Welcome To Transition!
Nineteen precious children, many of them new to the Marrara campus, have now been at ‘big school’ for three weeks. During that time they have explored the grounds relevant to their stage of schooling, and discovered that Mr Manning has an amazing collection of toys in his offi ce!
They have read, drawn, written, listened, spoke in front of the class, painted beautiful book covers and have begun the process of getting to know each other and teachers who will work with them this year. All this hard work has been interspersed with rest and play times.
They are a happy group of individuals, blessed with their own set of unique gifts and talents, that I am delighted to have the opportunity to work with this year.

FearIt comes in many different names: anxiety, worry, apprehension, nerves, panic. Sometimes fear disguises itself behind other behaviours: anger, frustration, aggression, withdrawal, constant talking, silence. Fear can cripple, paralyse and prevent us from experiencing the fullness of life that God has for us. Fear can fracture and sometimes destroy relationships; often our closest and most dearly loved ones suffer, and because it’s buried so far under other behaviours, it can often be missed, even by the person experiencing it. Often, fear is triggered by the unknown, by overwhelming circumstances, by oppression. Even starting a new school, a new job or being in a new place can be daunting and generate fear.
What an incredible blessing then, that we have a solution.
We don’t have to fear. And we don’t have to be enslaved to it.
The antidote to fear is faith.
Faith that we are loved by the creator of the universe. Faith that His plans for us are good, and not for evil. Faith that we are His children, that God is our Father. Faith that even though we cannot see what’s ahead of us, God can. Faith that even though things seem overwhelming, God will never let us go. Perfect love drives out fear. And God’s love is perfect. It isn’t dependent on how God is feeling, God IS love and He is trustworthy.
Battling fear isn’t easy, but in FAITH we turn to God’s Word and choose to believe His promises- which are YES and AMEN!
“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, f the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go." Joshua 1:9
“The LORD will fight f you; you need only to be still." Exodus 14:14
“The L d is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by ayer and petition, with thanksgiving, esent your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:5-7
Blessings,

Imaginarium NewsI would like to welcome all families to a new school year. The Imaginarium is the name of Marrara’s school library and I hope it will be a place where you and your children can come and enjoy reading and other activities.
Opening times- Open between 8:30am and 4pm weekdays- Closed at recess- Open at lunchtime
Lunchtime activities- Reading- Games- WiFi access
Library Lessons- Each primary class has a library lesson once a week- Students in Kingdom Kids up to Year 4 need to provide a library bag to be able to borrow. This may be bought, made or even be a plastic bag.
Borrowing- Kingdom Kids may borrow one picture book at a time- Transition may borrow two picture books at a time- Years 1 through to 9 may borrow two fi ction, two non-fi ction and two AR books at a time- Years 10 to 12 may borrow four fi ction and four non-fi ction books at a time- Reminders will be emailed out every two weeks if items have not been returned- If items have still not been returned by the fourth overdue notice, then parents will be charged for their replacement unless there are extenuating circumstances
Text Books- MCC library provides textbooks to families for their convenience and as a considerable cost saver- All textbooks are borrowed out to students at the start of the year and are due back at the end of the year- Each item is labelled for ease of identifi cation- Devices borrowed by students remain their responsibility- Some resources may stay in the classroom and may not be seen by parents
Returns- If items are returned in a state that is deemed as unreasonable wear and tear (water damaged, written on, torn or damaged to the point that we cannot reasonably ask another student to borrow it), we will request the family to replace the item(s) so they can be made available to students once more- If students have not returned items by the end of the year, families will be billed
Leaving Students- Students leaving Marrara to attend school elsewhere or going on holidays early MUST return all library loans, including text books and devices, the day before they leave.
