15/06/2020 Dear Parents, Guardians and Children, I hope everyone is keeping well. This is the last plan for the year. We will continue to look at the seaside for the last 2 weeks. I also want to have a mini sports day at home this week. Get out and get active. My favourite is the 3 legged. Why don’t you have a go? Have fun! Happy 7 th Birthday to Billy who celebrates his birthday on the 21 st June. Enjoy! Thank you to all the parents who collected their child’s belongings. Yes, you can use them as you wish. If you want your child to try some of the pages in the Maths, SESE or Gaeilge workbook, feel free to do so. Your child will receive new workbooks in the new school year. I know that interest levels drop as summer approaches. This happens in school too. This is a fortnightly plan. Work can be done between 15 th - 26 th June 2020. Tons of revision. Lots of the activities can be done outside this week. Approach the work based of your own child. Give plenty of breaks. 20 minutes of work and 15 minutes break. If you have any tech issues or questions about the course work, feel free to email [email protected] or if you don’t have access to email please text any questions to the school mobile on 0894552731.

Dear Parents, Guardians and Children,

I hope everyone is keeping well. This is the last plan for the year. We will continue to look at the seaside for the last 2 weeks. I also want to have a mini sports day at home this week. Get out and get active. My favourite is the 3 legged. Why don’t you have a go? Have fun!

Happy 7th Birthday to Billy who celebrates his birthday on the 21st June.

Work can be done between 15th- 26th June 2020.

Junior Infants

Oral language. Drawing challenge. Seaside/ beach. Draw something beginning with s that you could find at the seaside or at the beach. For example j is for jellyfish. Draw a picture for each sound in Group 3 goulfb Group 4 j Group 5 z w v Group 6 y x. Let the child think of an object independently. If they are stuck come back to it at the end. Label the picture. Parents can help the child sound out the words. These can be wacky as some of the letters are tricky like z could be a zebra on the beach. It’s just for fun!

Story about the seaside. Feel free to read a story from your own personal collection. “Tiddler. The Story telling fish” Story. See video on class page. Read aloud together. Ask your child to read the easier words.

Say the phrase “Chop it up” or “If in doubt, sound it out”. Sound out the words together if needed. Give them hints if they are stuck on words.
