Understanding the Deployment Architecture

VPC: A virtual private cloud is a virtual network dedicated to your AWS

account. It is logically isolated from other virtual networks in the AWS

Cloud. You can launch your AWS resources, like Amazon EC2 instances,

into your VPC. You can specify an IP address range for the VPC, add

subnets and associate security groups.

Subnet: A subnet is a range of IP addresses in your VPC. You can launch

AWS resources into a specified subnet. You can use a public subnet for

resources that must be connected to the internet, and a private subnet for

resources that will not be connected to the internet.

Security Group: A security group acts as a virtual firewall for your instance

to control inbound and outbound traffic. To protect the AWS resources in

each subnet, you can use multiple layers of security, including security

groups.

[Point 1]

๏ The instance is first stopped and then terminated.

๏ You can temporarily stop the instance without losing its

parameters by selecting Stop Instance and then again

restarting it when required by selecting Start Instance. This

feature is handy when you need to stop the instance at the

end of work on Day 1 and restart the same instance before

work on Day 2. This avoids unnecessary billing when the

instance is not in use.
