- Jingle writer = Charlie who is devoted to pleasure and meaningless encounters with women

- His uptight brother, Alan and Alan's growing son Jake.

- Charlie's bachelor lifestyle gets complicated and altered when his brother gets a divorce and moves in along with his son into his Malibu beach house.
